1 Ryan Adams 51

Still loving Ryan Adams. It's looking like a long term relationship.
It's good to see more people listening to Ryan Adams. Well done.

^^ Agreed. We've done well in spreading the gospel.

upthebracket 10-25-2005 04:17 PM

I have half of Rock N Roll on my computer, pretty decent, my brothers a huge fan and I usually like what I hear.

I've been listening to the leaked Babyshambles album non-stop since it leaked. Pretty solid album apart from a minor dip in the middle, there are a few classics on there too.

Dog 10-25-2005 04:19 PM
The Feelies, nice. I've been wanting to check them out for a while now. Only thing I've heard is a Decemberists cover. What would you recommend?
Like NPC said, Crazy Rhythms is essential. The rest of their catalog ain't half bad either, but that's the album to get.

Rock N Roll is by far his worst album. Listen to Heartbreaker and his two newest ones.

Beck - Mutations

Yeah, I didn't mean to crap on the rest of their discography but CR is their best work and represents for everything stood for musically.

The Modern Lovers

br3ad_man 10-26-2005 03:50 AM

OrbDragon 10-26-2005 05:00 AM

dEUS - Pocket Revolution

It's growing on me.

Bukowski 10-26-2005 09:13 AM

Husker Du - Zen Arcade
Husker Du - New Day Rising
Husker Du - Everything Falls Apart

Tomahawk 10-26-2005 12:02 PM

I'm a bit obsessed with Astral Weeks right now.

I've also been listening to some Neil Young, the Pop Group, Neu, and Peter Gabriel. But mainly Van Morrison.

Bukowski 10-26-2005 12:17 PM
the Pop Group
Excellent band.

I've stopped listening to Husker Du, and am now listening to Stereolab for the first time. My first impression is quite good.

The NPC 10-26-2005 01:14 PM
Husker Du - New Day Rising
A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
Beck - Mellow Gold
That's my favorite album out of their catalogue.

Interstate 10-26-2005 01:37 PM

The Clash - London Calling
Shawshank Redemption OST

Spectrum 10-26-2005 02:44 PM

I've just got back into Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans again, possibly the single most conceptual and cerebral album of all time. However, when the whole band entered for the first time, I literally had goosebumps and the hair on my arms was standing right straight up.

The beginning of the Revealing Science of God is awesome. It takes quite a bit of effort to take in all of the album in one sitting though.

Spectrum 10-26-2005 02:51 PM

That's very true... there are moments of pure genius and musical euphoria, but the album as a whole is a little overwhelming.

Interstate 10-26-2005 03:52 PM

Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence
Poison The Well - You Come Before You
Converge. (I really need to get one of their albums soon but I don't know which one to get. Should I get Jane Doe or You Fail Me?

Yeah my ears have taken a good battering tonight.

Jane Doe would be a pretty good introduction. But after that I recommend you work backwards. You Fail Me is a good album, but their older works, in my opinion, are better.

Happymeal 10-26-2005 04:22 PM

Bardo Pond(neo-psych/stoner band with post-rock length songs)
the usual Strung Out
The Living End

The Great Decay 10-26-2005 04:30 PM

Fair enough. By older works I meant specifically When Forever Comes Crashing and Petitioning The Empty Sky. You Fail Me is definitely a good album, but comparitively speaking its not the best, especially not for an introduction to Converge.

Bartender 10-26-2005 04:43 PM
Bardo Pond(neo-psych/stoner band with post-rock length songs)
They sound good.

Lots of Manowar
Alex Drosen - Sit and Melt
DJ Spooky vs Dave Lombardo - Drums of Death
Lots and lots of Talking Heads

Daniel! 10-26-2005 05:11 PM

This morning:
The Velvet Underground and Nico - The Velvet Underground and Nico

This afternoon:
Black Flag - Damaged

Luxor 10-26-2005 05:26 PM
I respectfully disagree. Jane Doe and You Fail Me are absolutely brilliant, When Forever Comes Crashing is great, Petitioning is alright and Caring and Killing is pretty weak.
Eugh...

You Fail Me is garbage. Just complete garbage.. it's not even worth the time taken to actually listen to it. I feel like I've lost something after listening to that album.

Get Jane Doe, or Petitioning The Empty Sky.
