although harsh put the transporter way, my jedi master has told me the same thing in a much nicer/jedi way
Remember when all the Jedi got slaughtered except the ones that went and hid like little bitches?
I realised this many, many, many moons ago.

np though, playing guitar is not the most important thing in my world.
You realized it, yet continue to fail. Playing guitar isn't the most important thing in my world either, but neither is wallowing in my lack of creativity/effort. Perhaps you should actually apply yourself instead of pretending that you've got "too much other stuff going on". It'd probably feel great to actually complete a song.
Being lefty makes it very difficult to find high quality production guitars. My prestige is great..But its still just an rg(lowest prestige model). 1980s era ibanez's are supposed to be much better quality wise than newer ones.

So I'm thinking of replacing it for the fact that it should in theory have higher quality craftsmanship and such. Playability, tone etc.

This too

Being that I'm such a gilbert fan and they prolly wont ever make a lefty gilbert model the 80's 550 is the closest I'll come!

I'm doing good man. Work all day, play guitar all night(just got back into it after stopping through college...What a mistake)How are you?
so you want an even greater than great guitar? honestly i doubt it's gonna make much of a difference, but to each his own

Not to sound like a snob..But I play a suhr. So any improvement that can be made to the ibanez is definitely welcome compared to the craftsmanship of the suhr.

JoshIsNumber3 08-19-2010 01:41 PM

lmao not to sound like a snob but i'm going to say something incredibly snobby

nick911sc 08-19-2010 01:43 PM

typical josh answer

JoshIsNumber3 08-19-2010 01:45 PM

to a typically nick statement

nick911sc 08-19-2010 01:46 PM

I feel right at home

The Transporter 08-19-2010 01:56 PM

not to sound snobby or anything, but i think i'd rather get kicked in the balls than play an ibanez or suhr

nick911sc 08-19-2010 01:58 PM

this can be arranged

what do you play?
Today I did my usual routine;

Enthusiastically start recording a song, full of creativity and vigor.

Niggle on not having the bass sound right, or owning a drum kit.

Record 30 bars.

Give up, leaving yet another 1.33 minute track titled 'new song' on my hard drive never to be revisited.

How're ya'll today?
I get that all the time - this last year though I've sorta trained myself to be more persistent with writing tunes. I havn't really learned anything new musically in the past 3 or so years but realising that persistence was limiting me more than my ideas was a big step.

Tell you what, though, I've sorta made a personal realisation from going to loads of gigs recently of some of my favourite bands - really, most metal and prog is seriously goddamn simple. And most music is repetative and annoying, if focused on too hard.

Not that I wasn't aware of that before, I just sorta didn't think of applying it to my problems with recording songs - really, any old crap will seem to do and people will impart their own feelings and whatever onto it when it's all fresh and new to them. However boring and repetative it gets to the composer. So basically, my best approach to composition now is to just stop thinking at every turn whether or not something is good or not.

Would launch into a better formulated argument here but I just seriously can't be arsed :P

Nice, I wish there were more ESP's around lefty that I could try out. Until then I'll stick with Ibanez.

being left handed and playing a right handed ESP is still better than playing any Ibanez

Bruce E Kinesis 08-19-2010 03:37 PM

come on man ibanez make some beautiful semihollows and those GAXs are decent doublecuts

it's the RGs that have the "play fast play boring" necks

Sheesh, you're a bit abbrasive.

All I'm saying is that I play guitar because it is fun, and occassionaly record a bit.

Why all the criticism?

i was in my first proper car crash today

overated, but my neck doesn't think so, fantastic day none the less :(

AG 08-20-2010 07:25 AM

What happened?

Blue_Moon 08-20-2010 07:39 AM

On a 3 lane road, on a motorway might i add... i was in the far left, one car from the middle lane came into my lane rather late started slowing down, so i slowed down, then he really slowed down so i had to jam on the brakes... stoped inches away from his car, truck behind smahsed into me

the car in front, turns out he was trying to go into a petrol station at the very very last minute, the station was in the hard shoulder lane to my left just off the motor way (which had traffic in it too) so he basicly came to a stop in the road after jumping into the lane way to late for this...

it was 3 italian folk in a rental car who spoke no english, was great fun :( ...truck driver guy behind me was ok about it, rang me there asking to sort it out without insurances, gotta get a quote and go back to him

+ i missed the interview i rearanged for that day afte ri made a balls of previous phone interview

+ the folks jeep got stolen on monday here which ive been driving lately since my car needs a new battery and sometimes is dodge

what a crappy week

Squirrel 08-20-2010 07:45 AM

I have the adapter obviously but is it that simple?

I have zero experience with recording.
