I have this new, serious problem where I find it almost impossible to listen to anything other than the songs I make on my computer
so now I wake up every day and it's like, welcome to the world of Alex Cino/pink and yellow I still listen to Nas here and there though |
I try not to listen to my own songs. It feels really dorky when they scrobble on last.fm and i'm my own top listener
|
As a vocalist, I listen to my old bands a lot.
Mostly because I joined the bands due to my enjoyment of the music. |
My top 25 most played on iTunes only has seven songs on it that aren't by me, and they're at the very bottom.
Yeah, I'm that kind of guy =/ |

I don't really. Once I finish a song, I've already heard it so many times that it's become boring for me. In other news: (Warning, long post of epic concert) Agalloch. Yesterday. Yes, it was pretty ****ing cool. Small stage and ****, but I really like the small halls. The first opener was Mely. I'd never heard of them before, but I was very impressed by their live performance. Their playing was just about as flawless as it gets and their singer just blew me away. Amazing singer. Wasn't out of tune even once and he sounded very powerful. Second opener was Dornenreich. I really didn't enjoy them, so I won't go into any further detail. Agalloch was gooood. They started out with Dead Winter Days. After that, John Haugm gave a little speech about how he learned a valuable lesson about the Netherlands. You can't buy some decent breakfast anywhere on a sunday, when everything's closed, but if you want some marihuana... It's everywhere. Every ****ing coffeeshop is open. He stated: "So we bought some marihuana... Gotta eat something." After that, they played As Embers Dress The Sky and In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion (which was cool, because they altered one part of the song). Then John told us about how the busdriver was a madman that usually almost gets them all killed and they played Not Unlike The Waves and Limbs. They said they'd close with Bloodbirds, which was the most amazing song to hear live. That song is just so powerful. Then they walked off stage and naturally everyone started yelling for more and they came back. They played Our Fortress Has Burned To The Ground (the limited song, only on the vinyl), but without the first ten minutes of blank noises. As expected, Agalloch was far from flawless live, but the tiny flaws were neglegable (am I spelling that word right..?). It did sound weird sometimes to hear the overdriven guitar sound just click and switch to clean, instead of the smooth transitions on the albums, but there's not much you can do about that live. |
