I only listen to Severed Heads and that Pink and Yellow EP with the girl with pink hair and vampire fangs on the cover

Willie 10-28-2009 06:43 AM
I shall.

I had a nice moment with Front Line Assembly's Artificial Soldier earlier.
Yes, Artificial Soldier was a great return to form. You know that they're in the process of working on new Delerium and FLA albums; right? There's actually already a single floating around for the new Delerium.

Meatplow 10-28-2009 08:03 PM

That I had no knowledge of. I'll be checking out more of their stuff i've missed out on though.

masscows 10-29-2009 08:42 AM

Can anyone rec me stuff like the industrial/noise outro to Amesoeurs - Ruines Humaines (song)?

Meatplow 10-29-2009 08:46 AM

the percussive elements remind me of Einstürzende Neubauten, they sound a lot more restrained though

I would like more stuff like this as well

Txus 10-29-2009 08:51 AM

thats kinda tough

something that comes to mind is Z'EV - Heads & Tales

hmmm might also try Nurse with Wound - Homotopy to Marie

Meatplow 10-29-2009 08:53 AM

Z'ev sounds about right actually, come to think of it.

Metaphonics? I can't remember that album at all actually :(

masscows 10-29-2009 08:59 AM

Sweet, I'll give Z'EV a try today. Thanks bros.

Txus 10-29-2009 09:34 AM

I need to check out Metaphonics now :o

Haz, you should check out Yoga (Megafauna album) my friend, I think you will like it very much.

Meatplow 10-29-2009 09:35 AM

Can anyone think of ambient-shoegaze that's more instrument based, like Have A Nice Life, Velvet Undergrount, Alcest etc.

Nepenthe 10-29-2009 06:56 PM

whisper room's birch white and bethany curve's skies a crossed sky

Nepenthe 10-29-2009 06:57 PM

wait do you mean not a lot of vocals or do you mean more emphasis on guitars and not electronics?

Txus 10-29-2009 06:59 PM
whisper room's birch white
awesome album.

Nepenthe 10-29-2009 07:00 PM

yeah i thought he meant instrumental shoegaze but if he wants electronics-less shoegaze then thats not the album for him

Aaron 10-29-2009 07:13 PM
wait do you mean not a lot of vocals or do you mean more emphasis on guitars and not electronics?
Kinda this. Bands, or dudes, that make ambient music but using live instruments, rather than synth-based stuff.

Txus 10-29-2009 07:14 PM

Oren Ambarchi

Nepenthe 10-29-2009 07:15 PM

im going to assume youve already got ride - nowhere

the daysleepers - the soft attack
bethany curve - skies a crossed sky (still)
flavor crystals - ambergris

and for a noisy one get cosmicdust - snow noise assemblage

and for a heavily shoegaze influenced metal record check out wolves in the throne room - malevolent grain

Txus 10-29-2009 07:23 PM

get to kill a pretty bourgeois - patron too

excellent shoegaze album

Aaron 10-29-2009 07:29 PM

Thanks, you sexy manbeasts.

feav233 10-29-2009 09:39 PM

just got the future sound of london - dead cities, and boards of canada - music has the right to children, enjoying these and would like to get into more electronic stuff but pretty much just have heard massive attack, sneaker pimps, a little bit of orbital and portishead before this, any recs?

Ravenholm 10-30-2009 04:43 PM

"Seven Forty Seven"

Ventriloquist 10-30-2009 06:23 PM

The Prodigy - Fat of The Land
Daft Punk - Discovery!
Messiah - 21st Century Jesus
Justice - Cross
Mrs Jynx - The Standoffish Cat
Squarepusher - Ultravisitor
Yellow Magic Orchestra - Technodelic
Autechre - LP5

a few different albums, some stuff you should know and a few favourites of mine

Willie 10-31-2009 08:42 AM

This is going on Vol. 3 of the Free Music feature, but I figured I'd post it here first...

The band is called The Shizit and they play a heavy brand of industrial that seems to have a pretty strong hardcore punk influence... the album is free (legally) and really good:

http://www.glitchmode.com/the-shizit/

Edit: I had only listened to the first two tracks when I posted this, but I just finished it... this is easily the coolest industrial album released this year (at least that I've heard). It's got awesome riffs, it's heavy as ****, cool samples and tons of energy.
I'm sure that a black man could much more safely navigate Boyd's neighborhood than a white man could Lil Wayne's neighborhood
ahahaha

People who are against racism are such tools.
Only a piece of trash white woman would ever associate with the 1/2 beast Negro. That is why you always see normal black guys with obese white trash. Any woman that cares about her future knows not to have sex or associate with subhumans Negroids. BTW Boyd Rice is known to get quality (something nigs know nothing about) pussy on demand. The Negro only gets pussy on demand when he's committing the common afro-American act of rape.
thats my favourite so far

Jaundice 11-01-2009 01:14 AM

Lol, that's just foolishness.
