If you can be bothered; an example of each of those?
For "Eleventeen likes them" put something like Hot Cross or Orchid.

i am the robots 07-04-2007 10:48 AM
someone already mentioned it, but Job For a Cowboy really have no death metal elements... kiddies think that the vocals are death metal vocals, but real death metal doesn't use brees and squeals. The only "death metal" thing they have is blastbeats and if you think blastbeats make a band death metal then really, don't even reply to this.

Brutality is an ok band (someone mentioned them back there)
No. Almost everything about JFAC is death metal. <3
No. Almost everything about JFAC is death metal. <3
you've already more than amply demonstrated that you don't even have the slightest beginning of a comprehension of death metal; you may leave now.

i am the robots 07-04-2007 10:50 AM

No, seriously. The band is death metal.

Also, the vocals are death metal vocals. The pig squeels may have originated in grind, but he still does them in death metal music.

The genre as a whole is evolving. Death metal from the 80's doesn't sound exactly like death metal from the 90's, and death metal in our time doesn't sound exactly like death metal from the 90's now either.

I'll admit I am insulted by your scale, not because you hold my opinion at such a low regard, because I couldn't really care less, however, I'm extremely offended that you put BRA's tastes so close to mine. Let's not joke about things we can't take back.

Dargon II 07-04-2007 11:07 AM

stop babbling out of your ***. I'll give you that modern stuff like Nile, Hate Eternal, or Skinless is death metal, even though it's complete garbage. However to say Handjob for a Gayboy is death metal is completely and utterly absurd, it's every bit as bad as saying that Children of Bodom is black metal.

i am the robots 07-04-2007 11:08 AM

No, it's not really comparable. I don't care how much you don't like them or how trendy they are, they still play death metal.

I'll admit the song's boring as hell, comparatively to the Doom EP, it's still death metal though.

AA-12 07-04-2007 11:13 AM

New JFAC album is death metal. The old stuff isn't really though.

Dargon II 07-04-2007 11:13 AM

You have a problem with the fact that scenesters like them thats why you deny there DM. Try listening to Genesis and realise how wrong you are.

rattlehead42147 07-04-2007 12:11 PM

All time DM list:
1. Death - Spiritual Healing
2. Death - Human
3. Obituary - Cause of Death
4. Gorguts - Considered Dead
5. Cannibal Corpse - Eaten Back To Life
6. Cryptopsy - None So Vile
7. Possessed - Seven Churches
8. Darkthrone - Soulside Journey
9. Morbid Angel - Blessed Are The Sick
10. Monstrosity - Imperial Doom

It needed 2 death albums, and 8 is death metal dont deny it, 10 is the only time i can stand george corpsegrinder fischer

i am the robots 07-04-2007 12:22 PM

Corpsegrinder is so good live.

For me (expect lots of faux-dm):

1. Through The Eyes Of The Dead - Scars Of Ages
2. Through The Eyes Of The Dead - Annihilation Of Expectation
3. Hacksaw To The Throat - Tear My Eyes Out
4. Circle Of Dead Children - Human Harvest
5. Cryptopsy - None So Vile
6. Demilich - Nespithe
7. Darkest Hour - So Sedated, So Secure
8. All Shall Perish - The Price Of Existence
9. Glass Casket - Desperate Man's Diary
10. Job For A Cowboy - Doom

RetiredAt21 07-04-2007 12:47 PM

Circle Of Dead Children are good.

i am the robots 07-04-2007 12:52 PM

Real damn good.

Poofy 666 07-04-2007 12:54 PM

TTEOTD are great the first 5 times you listen to their material, then it suffers from what I call "Deathcore Syndrome", it begins to sound boring, bland, uninspired and repetitive. Probably one of the better bands of that style but I really wish at least one band would be original.

i am the robots 07-04-2007 12:55 PM

I dunno, everything Rich Turbeville ever touches is amazing in my book.

RetiredAt21 07-04-2007 12:56 PM

NP - Macabre - Ed Gein

Their best song in my opinion.

Tyler 07-04-2007 12:56 PM

I really like Scar of Ages but the kick drums are so over-triggered. I'm sorry, I dont care if the booklet says they didnt use triggers, I don't think it's possible for kicks to sound like that otherwise.

i am the robots 07-04-2007 12:59 PM

Listen to how loud it is, they just put the mic up really loud... Dayton used triggers on Annihilation, Bloodlust, and Famine (FGOV), it sounds completely different.

Poofy 666 07-04-2007 01:00 PM

It says they didn't use triggers? Haha.

There is no way they got the drums to sound that clean and polished with just microphones.

You can only listen to the same recycled riffs and breakdowns so much before you want something that sounds new and refreshing. Although that can be said for any genre, I think bands of that style are severely lacking in originality.

i am the robots 07-04-2007 01:01 PM

Ugh. He didn't use triggers, my old band's drummer did the same thing for live shows, it sounds exactly the same.

RetiredAt21 07-04-2007 01:01 PM

A lot of bands in a lot of genres are lacking originality these days. Originality seems to be at an all time low.

i am the robots 07-04-2007 01:02 PM

Yeah, we need a new genre already... something that's not faux grind.

NemesisDivina 07-04-2007 01:06 PM

Why does everyone seem to like JFAC so much? I've listened to them a few times (old and new) and each time I just thought they were awful.

i am the robots 07-04-2007 01:09 PM

To me it seems like I'm one of the few who does like them, online anyhow.

Dargon II 07-04-2007 02:21 PM

you know you're a sack of **** stacked into the shape of a human being when there's only 2 death metal albums on your "top 10 death metal albums of all time" list.

Charizard 07-04-2007 02:36 PM

What an unexpected turn of plot...

Poofy 666 07-04-2007 02:46 PM

For anyone who likes Dismember/Swedish style DM check out Blood Rainbow. Yeah their name is crappy but they make up for it because they are awsome.

http://www.deathmetal.hu/download.php?ctag=download&docID=27

Charizard 07-04-2007 02:51 PM

Swedish style you say? Don't mind if I do!

Oooh, very nice. Thank you Poofy.

Poofy 666 07-04-2007 02:57 PM

Yeah, I was actually surprised how good it was. Great mix of Swedish and Florida style DM. If anyone wants a link to their album let me know :)

Charizard 07-04-2007 03:00 PM

I do, I do!

My only complaint was that one solo in the middle.

Tyler 07-04-2007 03:01 PM

I'll take it, too

lintmunro @ hotmail. com

or just rep it or something.

Poofy 666 07-04-2007 03:04 PM

Yeah it felt out of place, but they make up for it in the second solo.

check your rep guys

Charizard 07-04-2007 03:06 PM

True on the second solo, and the out of placeness is really what it was that I disliked.

Thank you sir.

ATM 07-04-2007 03:07 PM

Could I get that, too?

Poofy 666 07-04-2007 03:10 PM

It says I need to spread some rep :(

can you guys send it to him for me?
