Poofy 666 06-18-2007 08:27 PM

I think Anomalies was definitely better than Xenosapien, but its still pretty good, and it kicks *** live.

purplefeet 06-18-2007 09:09 PM

Lucid Interval & Exploiting Dysfunction ftw!

AA-12 06-19-2007 06:21 AM

^Yeah. Anomalies too though :D

ATM 06-19-2007 09:13 AM

Both of them rule.
my review of the new PD is up. Constructive critcisms and/or lines dropped are welcome!
I enjoyed your review, glad to see someone finally do justice to them on this site. The review for PITY (I think) was a disgrace.

RetiredAt21 06-19-2007 05:50 PM

I didn't like Anomalies that much.

LifeInABox 06-19-2007 08:42 PM

I just got the new Locust album.
I didn't like Anomalies that much.
Anomalies is great but there's those few pseudo-core tracks that are sort of a joke but still done really well. IE: Dying Will Be the Death of Me.

LifeInABox 06-19-2007 09:02 PM

NE is soo friggin good so far.

Eliminator 06-19-2007 09:03 PM

It's a solid album. Wore off pretty quick.

If it were a bit more hard-edged then I would enjoy it more.

TojesDolan 06-19-2007 09:07 PM

I'm beginning to like Grind more than Metal because grind is emotional and brutal and there's a lot of screaming.

Pretty much the way I feel now. Yes.

LifeInABox 06-19-2007 09:10 PM

I personally think that Grind should be linked to metal more than it is now. It shares some of the same traits and stuff soo...

anyway, does anyone besides me consider The Locust like Grind with metal influences? Because the new album sounds kind of like Calculating Infinity by The Dillinger Escape Plan.

Eliminator 06-19-2007 09:12 PM

Is it really that hard to type names out
christ.

I think you should re-look at your PD review man. It's not as death influenced as you make it seem.

TojesDolan 06-19-2007 09:15 PM

They used to be grindier.

LifeInABox 06-19-2007 09:17 PM

Well Coke, I agree and disagree. The more I listen, the more grindier it sounds, but also the more I listen, the more straight up Death Metal I hear. It's a tradeoff imo.

Tyler 06-19-2007 09:22 PM

You're looking for it.

LifeInABox 06-19-2007 09:24 PM

I'm more open minded when listening to that, believe it or not.

Eliminator 06-19-2007 09:27 PM

Convincing yourself that something is also straight up death metal makes you open minded? what

TojesDolan 06-19-2007 09:31 PM

It's grind! It's death metal!

geez, it's a crossover!

or

batman!

:D

i am the robots 06-19-2007 11:19 PM

Isn't he that old dude who drew young boys and girls into his basement?

Eliminator 06-19-2007 11:22 PM

That's Jelle.

i am the robots 06-19-2007 11:24 PM

Wait... Jelle is Batman?

Nepenthe 06-19-2007 11:25 PM

Batman is Jelle.

And Trap Them is good.

i am the robots 06-19-2007 11:26 PM

Trap Them is fantastic!

Nepenthe 06-19-2007 11:28 PM

They're like the first grind band I've actually thoroughly enjoyed.

publicastration 06-20-2007 01:06 AM

The new Pig Destroyer kicks so much *** it's unbelieveable.

My only (small)complaint is that JR's voice isn't as insane as it is on Prowler and Terrifyer.

RetiredAt21 06-20-2007 05:59 AM

Trap Them is alright. Really liked them when I first heard them, but they kinda got boring quick.

I'm listening to ACxDC. Fuck yeah.

LifeInABox 06-20-2007 07:43 PM
Convincing yourself that something is also straight up death metal makes you open minded? what
did you even read what I said?

Nepenthe 06-20-2007 07:49 PM

Anybody like Force Fed Glass?

RetiredAt21 06-20-2007 08:06 PM

I don't think I've ever heard them.

Nepenthe 06-20-2007 08:09 PM

Hear them. Fine Tuned Chaos Mother****ers is their entire discography. 41 songs, 1 hour of *** kicking.

RetiredAt21 06-20-2007 08:11 PM

Word, I'll check them out.

Nepenthe 06-20-2007 08:15 PM

After they broke up some of the members went on to join Converge, Daughters, and Hassan i Sabbah, if that piques your interest even more. And they did a split with The Fall Of Leningrad and The Swarm.

RetiredAt21 06-20-2007 08:27 PM

Well, I don't like Daughters, but Converge and Hassan I Sabbah are both really good.

Nepenthe 06-20-2007 08:38 PM

Regardless, they're badass.

I'm starting to get into grind. Along with Trap Them and Force Fed Glass, I'm really digging Crowpath and Veil Of Maya.

RetiredAt21 06-21-2007 08:21 AM

Whoa, I haven't listened to Crowpath is forever. I totally forgot about them.

Txus 06-21-2007 10:09 AM

Veil of Maya are quite good.

And I'll check Force Fed Glass later today, they sound interesting.

RetiredAt21 06-21-2007 12:07 PM

Force Fed Glass are pretty good.

RouteOne 06-21-2007 07:26 PM

Ugh, sorry dudes but I cant stand phantom limb. I can't get into it.
