Wuhan 12" Splash. Heh.
|
i always advise against these Xplosion Crashes.
Why? |
the sound like a punch in the face...not very pleasent.
|
Thanks man i'll be looking into it very soon. Well now i've found another the A custom ping ride.(Between the A medium ride and the A custom Ping ride) Which is again more versitile but still a great ride for rock music? Thanks for all the help you guys
P.S. Both cymbals are 20"
HELLO? |
A. Medium. nothing will top the versatility of that ride.
|
Sweet, thanks man i'll be sure to follow through with checking that ride out thoroughly.
|
i play funk/metal looking for good cymbals in the line of paiste.
|
i'd say Sig Full Crashes, 2002 Sound Edges, and a Sig Full ride if you can afford it.
|
I play hard, so i need thick cymbals. I want cymbals of all shapes and sizes. but for now im looking for a rock ride, two crashes, and maybe a china. i know sabian or paiste is the way to go, but any specific cymbals i should consider?

Hey
My b-day is coming up pretty soon here and I would like to upgrade my ride ( from a B8 Pro). My current cymbal line-up, minus the B8 Pro ride, is: 14" Sabian Paragon Hats 16" Sabian El Sabor Crash 12" Wuhan Splash 17" Sabian Vault Crash and 12" Wuhan China I play mainly classic rock but I would like a somewhat versatile cymbal. I also like loud, cutting bells. So, what is a good ride for me? Oh, no real price restrictions unless it is like a $400 K Constantinoble and I don't care what brand as long as it can be found at guitar center. |
the K Heavy Ride is a good one to look into....or on the brighter end, maybe an AA Medium-heavy ride,
|
Will do. Thanks!

Heh, any Zildjian As, Sabian AAs, or Paiste 2002 rides should work. |

maybe check out some medium wieght or heavier sabian AA's or zildjian A's. they would work quite well. |
Quick question on what cymbal you guys think would be a useful thing to get next.
I have... 16" crash (sabian pro) 18" crash (paiste 502) 20" ride (stagg) 10" splash (stagg) 16" china (zildjin zbt) and 14" hats (sabian B8) basically i was either thinking of a second pair of hats or maybe a 15" crash, Failing that i could upgrade my cymbals as some of them arent very good (china is ZBT, although that doesnt matter as i dont really use it as much as others), if i did upgrade i was thinking along the lines of sabian AA and AAX. Or i could get a second floor tom (either 14 or 18") |
new hats for sure.
|
Ok ill truse your judgement...
If i am going to get new hats i might aswell get them in a pack of 3 with a new crash and ride, kill 3 birds with one stone. |
that would be a good idea, but your better off buying them seperate.
|
i found a 18 in rude china for 80 dollars that i was thinking of going for, does anyone know how these sound?
|
that would be a good idea, but your better off buying them seperate.
why? i save money if i buy them all together |
say you bought the stage pack. You get stage crash/hats/ride. You might not like the stage crash as much as the rock crash and then you'll be wanting to upgrade and costing yourself more money. Unless you like all 3 in the pack the best in which case gte it.
|
as of now i own 1 crash its a 18 inch full crash, and the shops around me do not carry any cymbal bigger than that in size unless ordered. i would like to know if i should go with the 18 power crash or have them order the 19 inch full crash.
also what sound charecteristics differ from 19 full to 18 inch power? thanks alot |
ID GO WITH A WUHAN DOGGG!
is this a joke cause i didnt laugh and whats wuhan have to do with crash cymbals |
wuhan has crash cymbals
|
Could any one here describe the sound of an old Z light Power Ride? :p
|
wuhan has crash cymbals
Ok, so he should have rephrased it. What does Wuhan have to do with Paiste cymbals? Answer: nothing. |
They May not have anything to do with paiste but they still have the Wuhan Rock Crashes, It wouldn't blend well I think..., anyways I think the 19 or 20" Full/Power Crash should do it for ya....
|
the only thing i like in the wuhan line are splashes and chinas. have you played the 19 inch full and 18 power murd?
|
ya but I like the 20" ones I'd go with a 20"... but try 18" power anyways it should work, actually It would work for u, but be pretty loud...
|
Did anyone know you pronounce Paste, Past-ee.
|
why? i save money if i buy them all together
true, but your playing roulette with sound. better to be safe and get them seperate. your only saving about 10%
also what sound charecteristics differ from 19 full to 18 inch power?
he 19" Full would be generally lower pitched than the 18" Power...which would be brighter, sharper, and more cutting.
Did anyone know you pronounce Paste, Past-ee.
actually, its "pie-stee" |
If I find a used Sabian AA raw ride for $130 Canadian, should I buy it? I've tried it out so I know I like the sound.
Can someone describe to me what to look for when checking it over? I've never seen cymbal cracks so I'm not sure if they're nearly invisible sometimes or what. |

Sorry fellaz but again the Paiste Dimensions power crashes ownz the Paiste Signature power crashes. I had an 18'' Paiste full crash for awhile but it didn't cut through the music like I wanted and it was one of the only cymbals I've ever cracked.

hmm i'll try before i buy just to make sure. |
I'm looking for a new crash cymbal thats not to over powering, not alot of sestain, strong, and cheap.

hmm. 16" Pro Crash? |
What's a more versatile, controllable ride, 21" A Rock, or 22" A Ping? It needs to be useful in a variety of settings, but be strong enough to be heard over 2 guitars and a bass in a live setting.
I have a Sabian AAA, Its a really controllable ride, Does a great job.. Not too expensive either :D (Word of warning: Dont drop it, It really deafens you lol) |
