That really does suck. We've actually done quite nicely out of property recently - our neighbour was really really elderly, but my mum was taking care of her every day, doing shopping for her, cooking, cleaning, just from goodness of heart, there was no money in it. Then when she died her daughter inherited the house, and sold it to my mum at a cut rate as a way of saying thank you. My dad fixed it up and sold it for more than twice the amount we got it for (literally) so we sold our house as well as used the money from both of them to move into our current superhouse. (We're talking roughly £500,000 in value, 5 bedrooms, built in the 17th century. All water from a hillside spring. Yes, I shower and flush my toilet with springwater.)

Utter ripoffs, the lot of them. You don't even get much for your money. The last one I got was mostly bald. And two of the wheels were broken. As was the dvd drive.
