there was something online like that, if u play circle backwords, it says "mother ****er" at some point. and it has a downloadable clip. its pretty eirie sounding. i forget the site check some link sites from black-goat |
the end of the song "Eeyore" in spanish translates to: "We're ugly and we smell but we rule faggot mother ****er."
in circles, cory says Razel alot, which means the secret of god in hebrew. there is a few songs that say something when you play them backwords, i forget which ones tho. |

Paul has the black mask with the white streaks down it, and is the bassist. |
How dare I leave off Paul?I dunno. He always tends to slip my mind the most.I dont really know why.But yeah, Paul. The co-founding member of the band along with Shawn. One of the main writers along with Joey(on s/t and Iowa, Vol.3 was everybody).Stupid me!!!I shall do 26 Hail Marys.
|
Why does everyone in here, who's posting band member's names, forget Paul? Slipknot wouldn't be anything without a bassist, and a very good one at that. God, the nerve of some people. :amaze:
very very true!! i listened to slipknot to vent anger and frustration. you cant do that with their new album. its still decent stuff, but nothing like their first two
have you ever listened to deicide they are better than slipknot |
thank you alll very much for listing all of the band members. i used to think paul was the singer, but thanks to you all, i know that hes not
can anyone e-mail me a list of hard core rock bands simillar to slipknot?? thats at chestersfriend2003@yahoo.com |
have you ever listened to deicide they are better than slipknot
Well, thank you for your 1 and a half cents!!! Anyway, Mick looks like Glen Benton(Deicide). |

|
Sorry man i have 2 correct u again, Mick does the Lead guitar and Jim does rythem like in stone sour :thumb:
And I have to correct YOU in saying that Mick and Jim share lead duties. |
You guys sure about that? Look in the booklets. I'm almost 100% cure that it said Jim is the lead. I remember it because I was surpriesed when I found out.
|
Every time I have ever seen them listed, Jim is listed as playing rhythm.
But I think it is more accurate in saying they switch off, because I've heard them talk about the trade-offs they do on the new album, plus I have seen Jim play lead lines before. |
I think both guitarists switch off. And in the booklets it says that they play guitars. There is no thing that says whether they play lead or rhythm. Jim does do all of the crazy solos on the new album though.
|
Well, on Vol.3, Jim is on the left channel and Mick is on the right. They pretty much divide it up equally.
|
Opium of the People is a perfect example of how they switch off play lead parts. most of the new album is like that.
|
I've listened to the self titled already ( i kno finally) and i must say i have some respect for them now. My girlfriend is one of those obssesed fans

Slipknot is an amazing band. They have the best drummer I think I have ever heard. With their constant double bass kicks that blow out the eyes. Corey is great lyricist (even though his screams aren't the greatest). I think their music is so popular because the lyrics relate to what we have floating around in our minds.

To respond to what you said about Joey: Listen to Nick Barker, he is a much better drummer. I would reccomend buying the new Dimmu Borgir CD to show his true talent. To respond to what you said about Corey: His lyrics are mediocre. Listen to Iowa (just read the lyrics to the song "Disasterpiece") and you will see what I mean. Some of his works just arent that great. |

People = **** his yelling screaming thingy at best. And good on you picking a poor song off iowa to bag him. Cunt. |
All i said was that his lyrics are mediocre. I didnt mean to seem that harsh, and you seemed to make such a big deal out of it. I didnt say anything about his vocal skills, and believe me, he is quite a good vocalist. You took one thing I said and made into a much bigger thing. Chill out, dude.
|
they dont have the best drummer but joey deffinetly is one of the best in metal,, and i dont really care if corys screams and vocals are considered all that great, i think his voice is perfect for the band and his screams sound great to me.
|
Yeah, well Mick Thompson has a kick a-ss guitar style. I play guitar for like 2 years now, and its just fun to play people = sh-it or, the heretic anthem. And I personally think that corey taylor lost his fvcking skills on shouting, cause his screams just sound empty on VOL3. But just look at the sick solos they throw at you, specially the VERMILLION one..I'm pretty sure Mick and Jim can do a lot better, but the guitar work they suits Slipknot very well...stay [sic] you fvcking maggots !
|
yea i think corys screams arnt as good as they used to be but the guitar solos and better drum parts make up for it.
|
Well, he's gotten Chris and Shawn to help out a little more here and there too with screaming, so it all works out anyway.
|
yea i think corys screams arnt as good as they used to be but the guitar solos and better drum parts make up for it.
I agree with you there he has also improved his singing when not screaming too |
i really thought corey was good on vol 3, espcially the way they
overdub him singin when hes screamin |
He was pretty good on Vol.3 I thought. It was good to see him do something different and try singing quite a bit. His voice seems to change with every album anyway so he offers quite a bit of variety.
|
I heard that during recording his voice just completely changed and they had to keep recording from there. Thats why his screams sound so different from the other two albums.
|
But its strange...on their s/t his voice was kind of high pitched, then on Iowa it got deep, and now its higher pitched again. I think I like his Stone Sour voice best of all though.
|
Oh no way, Stone sour wasnt the best. The best had to be the s/t Corey Taylor.
|
When is the re-release of MFKR?
|
Are they going to re-release it? If so, that would be pretty cool. Its an incredible album, and any Slipknot fan should go and grab it ASAP.
