Que pasa mis amigos?

bottlerocket 03-13-2006 09:51 PM

If I believed in God, I'd say he has something against me.

I must've been Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Cortez, etc. in a former life or something because my life absolutely sucks.

DJ Ducksauce 03-13-2006 09:57 PM

Ow, why?

bottlerocket 03-13-2006 10:00 PM

My house caught on fire. Actually, only my room, the guest bedroom, and the upstairs bathroom did, but my room and everything in it was destroyed, including my modified Fender Jazz Bass I've had for like 4 or so years and my GK rig...

Luckily, my Stiletto 5 and Peavey TNT 115 were at my drummer's house for practice, but seriously, if I didn't have to work 8:30-5 on Sunday, I'd be dead.

What the hell? Argh, I seriously thought life couldn't get any worse.

-Gav

DJ Ducksauce 03-13-2006 10:01 PM

Holy crap Gav, that sucks bad.

B 03-13-2006 10:03 PM

:(

At least you aren't dead.

That sucks a lot though..

bottlerocket 03-13-2006 10:03 PM

Yeah...all my clothes: gone. My bed? Gone. My books? Gone.

Brandon: I may as well be:

I had all my money saved for college and I won't get crap for insurance money from this...so yeah, there go my college funds.

I might have to take that full ride to Clarkson University now, even if I get into Yale or Harvard. I just plain can't afford it. It's nice to know I got totally screwed over in life because of this.

Don't say that.

bottlerocket 03-13-2006 10:09 PM

^ Yeah...I had all my money saved to pay for college and now I have to spend it on all new clothes, a new bed, another bass, another amp, books for school (even though I have 24 days left), etc....I mean, what the hell.

Argh! I hate life!

Anyway, what's new with you d00dz?

-Gav

DJ Ducksauce 03-13-2006 10:17 PM

Not much besides Spring Break. Lots of school work to catch up on. Yay...:(

bottlerocket 03-13-2006 10:20 PM

^ Lame. I have 24 days left of school and I get my spring break in April. Me and 3 of my best friends are going to Florida for 5 days; no parents, just us. :)

Can you say dream trip? :p

Of course, I don't know how I'll pay for it now...:(

thats why i said steal one, plus he has a bass already, just get a pocket amp, i guess he neds one for shows though..

ps: I got banned from mcdonalds for a year for stealing the trays and snowboarding with them.. too bad I didn't actually do it.

Gav: Just wear the same clothes everyday

Wait, $375 for the bear and fishnets, or for the fine?

Brandon, oic, gotcha.

You could probably find some good deals at Musicianfriend for the bass and amp, or ebay.

Same clothes everyday? I wouldn't do that and I'm Asian. Oh wait, I am right now. <_<

bottlerocket 03-13-2006 10:33 PM

Brandon: We do that all the time. I live down the street from a mall (I'm looking at it right now through my window as we type...literally) and we always steal the trays and go riding down the stairs on them. When it snows, we steal them and go sledding on them on the hill down the street.

Imagine if I really did wear the same clothes daily?

-Gav

B 03-13-2006 10:36 PM

Yeah cept we got banned for a year. And went back a month later.

bottlerocket 03-13-2006 10:40 PM

We were banned from the mall for 6 months for doing what I just told you one time...I went back the next day and looked the Rent-A-Cop in the eye. He didn't do a thing.

It was sweet.

Lols, as if you need a bass and another amp. Sell the amp you already have and get an acoustic bass. Those things rip, and you can bring it to college without too much fuss.

New hint: don't buy band t-shirts. Just buy ****ty $1 t-shirts in the wal-mart bargan bin. You only need five, one for each school day. Wash them on weekends, and then start over. You just need one pair of good, sturdy jeans.

**** beds, get a futon. They're much cheaper. You don't need a bed, just sleep on the futon. Or just sleep on the couch and forget spending money in the first place. If you're moving to college, you wont need a bed for too long anyway.

Haha, wow. That sounds fun.

Our mall doensn't have stairs, and it doesn't snow often in Texas. Not enough to make hills with anyways.

bottlerocket 03-13-2006 10:45 PM

^ My plans:

1- I still have my main bass and another bass amp, so I might stick with those for now and just buy a small practice amp to bring to college with me.

2- For clothes, I'll just have to buy stuff from local stores and shows. As for jeans, I buy them from the Gap for like $10-$30 bucks (I've gotten jeans there for dirt cheap).

3- I'm probably not gonna buy a bed. One, I have a couch, and two, as you said, I'm going to college soon (I hope, anyway).

Good thinking Jon/Gav.

Go to a good uni you chem nerd you.

BridgeToSolace 03-13-2006 10:48 PM

I still say get an acoustic bass. At least after seeing my sister's dorm, you WILL be pressed for outlets, and some colleges don't let you use power strips. Plus, it's a bitch to carry around amps and ****.

It's much easier to swoon the bitches if you can just carry over your case in with your acoustic bass and then start funking out. Plugging things in and finding outlets is a total buzz kill.

Plus, the chances of getting beer spilled on your amp in college is like 2 in 3. Get beer on your acoustic bass in it's no big deal.

Especially if it's a crappy $100 one.

I hate acoustic basses. You can't hear them, the tone sucks, and I'm not a fan of the looks. Some are OK but they're really expensive.

I don't drink, either...I'm not straight edge, I just don't drink or smoke or anything. Long story.
