Should I assume that you have already gotten EPLP? If you haven't, then get that. After that get Rats/Time Flies... as well as every other album they made (they are that good!). If you are looking for something more solid then go for Cradle to the Grave or Worlds Apart. |

Bob Wills, dude. I just got into him and he rules. In terms of bluegrass, Split Lip Rayfield is a good current band, as is Big Smith, if you haven't heard either of them. edit: ****, man, check out Jimmy Martin. He's the King of Bluegrass. Elizabeth Cotten is an amazing female blues/folk artist (her song "Freight Train" will change your life). And if you like instrumental folk stuff, check out John Fahey. |
I just started getting into punk when I saw GBH a few months ago. the bands I like are them, dead kennedys, bad brains, the misfits, a lot of psychobilly bands, stuff like union 13. What should I look in to?
|

Try Minor Threat, 7 Seconds, Gorilla Biscuits, Dag Nasty. For psychobilly, the only band I really know of is Mad Sin, but you could try other bands like Necromantix and Tiger Army. |
No! Tiger Army sucks!
For psychobilly: Mad Sin, The Meteors, Batmobile, Demented are Go!, 12 Step Rebels, Godless Wicked Creeps, and Elvis Hitler For stuff similar to GBH, maybe try A Global Threat and Lower Class Brats |
Mad Sin are very good psychobilly. I just checked them out a few weeks ago.
|
They are probably the best psychobilly band I've heard.
Check out Bob's Country Bunker, they are from Ohio, saw them live at a car show and got their CD ad a used record store, good psychobilly/country punk/punk and roll. I have them shared on soulseek. |
I thought Tiger Army sucked, I just didn't know how bad. I just knew they were psychobilly.
By the way, Nick, who's that secksy man in your avatar? |
Sam Beam aka Iron & Wine
I highly recommend him if you like soft alt. country/folk/indie |
A global threat and lower class brats are really good, so are batmobile.
thanks! are there any other bands like lower class brats? |
Not in sound completely, but check out Adicts and Major Accident, both have the clockwork orange influence. Adicts are poppy punk and Major Accident are oi.

Psychobilly: 12 Step Rebels, Batmobile, Demented Are Go!, Godless Wicked Creeps, Guana Batz, The Koffin Kats, Mad Sin, The Meteors, The Quakes, Reverend Horton Heat, Rezurex, The Sharks Sorry if I repeated some that Nick said. |
i'm really loving everything you guys recommended, especially all the psychobilly bands.
The quakes are here tomorrow and i'm DEFINITELY checking them out. what do you guys think of the nekromantix? i like them a lot. they're kind of goofy, but they're really good. |

If you like older psychobilly and haven't checked out bands like The Meteors, The Sharks, Demented Are Go!, and Guana Batz I suggest doing so. I like the Nekromantix. Brought Back To Life is probably my favorite album by them. Dial 666 and Nekrofelia are sweet songs. |
I don't like Nekromantix.
|
They're better than Tiger Army.
|
Agreed.
|
Nekromantix are average, better then most American Hellcat psychobilly bands.
|
Nekromantix are average, better then most American Hellcat psychobilly bands.
That's not really much considering there's only 3 Hell Cat psychobilly bands: Tiger Army, Nekromantix, and HorrorPops *shudders at HorrorPops* |
Hellcat supports a bunch of ****ty psychobilly bands though.
|
Well, they've supported 12 Step Rebels and they're pretty good.
|
I still like Tiger Army.
|
