What is slsk? |
Shorthand for soulseek.
|
Thanks bartender...I don't have soulseek, but I made a list generator of all my music and you can check the rap section out if you'd like or anything else for that matter http://www.xanga.com/musicisuniversal and I'm currently getting all of B.I.G's and 2 PAC'S Discography so let me know what's up

So I've recently discovered Busdriver and Atmosphere.
Can't believe I've taken this long. |
If anyone here has some spare time up their sleeve, would they mind giving the song posted in this thread a listen and commenting back on it here. It's a song a couple of my mates from back home put together. It's Australian, but there's been arguments about whether or not they are putting on American accents, so some feedback would be nice.
Also, I know that this should actually go in Audio Arena, but that places doesn't get much traffic, and I doubt a hip hop track would get any feedback there. |
a kid just told me that if you slow down gotta stay fly by 3 6 mafia it says some **** about worshiping satan? has anyone else heard of this
JonM: whats your username on slsk? same as here? |
I don't like today's rap, but i do like Old-school and scratch rap, like:
Public Enemy DJ Q-Bert Jurassic 5 Cut Chemist MF Doom I don't know if this counts as hip-hop, but i'm a huge fan of electronica. Lusine Aphex Twin Gescom Mu-ziq/U-ziq
Err, Jurassic 5 are contemporary, not Old Skool. |
guys, since my own thread didn;t work out too well.
I was wondering if any of you guys have listened to a guy name necro? What did you guys think of him, would he be worth checking out? |
Hey guys, recommend me some rappage.
I listen to Tupac, Biggie, Three 6 Mafia, Dr. Dre, Eminem, and I think thats it. I'm looking for some more like Three6, since I really got into them recently and love it, but nothing mainstreem, cause what I've heard, I don't like. Go! |

Goodie Mob (similar to outkast/southern flare) 2. Mobb Deep (if you like biggie, tupac, gangsta rap, but good stuff, recent album: Amerikaz Nightmare) 3. Youngbloodz (southern flare/great beats/if you like three six you might want to check them out, to me they're better, recent album: Everybody Know Me, they're in heavy rotation in my car lol) 4. Tech N9ne (if you like drum n bass added into your rap, he's definitely different and unique but well worth listening to, midwest rapper from kansas city, missouri, if you like eminem, tupac and biggie try him) 5. if you like three six mafia once agagin check out their "psuedo/alter ego names" Prophet Posse and Tear Da Club Up Thugs and check out some of the artists solo albums like Juicy J, DJ Paul, La Chat, Gangsta Boo (no longer apart of three six, but i like her stuff on three six, haven't heard her stuff after three six, but she has an album out), Koopsta, Project Pat, "hypnotize camp," and check out their artists who they promote under their label such as Frayser Boy, Indo G, the kaze and Lil Wyte 6. Noreaga (album to check out N.O.R.E. is a classic imo, he's doing the "reaggeton" thing more so now, which i can't stand, but check his stuff out before that) 7. Guerilla Black (if you like biggie he's definitely the one to check out he sounds EXACTLY like Biggie, in fact it's kind of scary, the first time i heard him i was like are they using big's voice? hahaha if i had to compare he's like "biggie light") |
Wow dude, thanks I'll definatly check out some of those, some I haven't heard of, others I never bothered to, but I will check them out.
:chug: |
i havent taken the time to read the whole thread but some people i like are immortal technique, dr dre, public enemy, sabac, jedi mind tricks, del, gang starr, necro, the game, too short, etc.
guys, since my own thread didn;t work out too well. I was wondering if any of you guys have listened to a guy name necro? What did you guys think of him, would he be worth checking out?
i listen to him hes pretty good but you gotta be into his style. its realyl graphic and gory, he calls it "death rap". pretty crazy stuff tho |
scuba steve the genre you like is called "horrorcore rap" and necro decided to differentiate hismelf, so he calls his music "death rap" however check page 32 in this thread for more on "horrorcore rap" most of the rappers describe their music in their own way even though it's under the broader term of "horrorcore" they all have their own unique style and way of doing things

They aren't bad, I like how the newer material sounds to the older stuff...
|
Necro is one twisted individual.
