Damn right. :naughty:

A Gothic Romance is one of my favorite CoF songs.

DAHE = Dusk & Her Embrace
Oh yeah i love that song...gets all soft and then "red roses for...the devils whore". DAHE is probably my favorite album.
And i love playing the keys at the begining.

Tyler 12-30-2005 02:58 PM
You've got a point there. They don't try to be black metal so I don't see why people should call them posers or whatever.
Well, I think a lot ot if spawns from their main fanbase. I mean, they've got the guys who just like the music, and then the rest of their fans that look like a they were breaking in their newly purchased leather trenchcoats in the make-up section of Shoppers Drug Mart.

King_Of_Terrors 12-30-2005 02:59 PM

You play keys? Awesome. Amor E Morte is a great song.

Thor 12-30-2005 02:59 PM
I just ordered VEmpire...I like the songs from it I have, and am even considering "nocturnal supremacy" as a band name...
I already know you're a big CoF fan so you'll really enjoy this album, I assure you.

And that's a really cool band name, by the way!:thumb:

azbassman 12-30-2005 03:02 PM

My band is going to try to do a cover of Born in A Burial Gown at our next school talent show. Took me a while but i can reach most if not all of the vocals on that song. The keys shouldnt be that difficult.

Moses 12-30-2005 03:08 PM

None of the keys in CoF are really difficult. Usually keys in metal aren't anyway.

azbassman 12-30-2005 03:10 PM
None of the keys in CoF are really difficult. Usually keys in metal aren't anyway.
Yeah i know, thats why i can play and do vocals at the same time.

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 03:25 PM

True, it's a bizzare mix at a cradle concert, you get these huge beer-bellied metalheads, and all these little mallcore kids. Very amusing, really.

Moses 12-30-2005 03:27 PM
Yeah i know, thats why i can play and do vocals at the same time.
That's what I do for my band. If only me and the guitarist didn't fire our bassist and drummer.

azbassman 12-30-2005 03:35 PM
That's what I do for my band. If only me and the guitarist didn't fire our bassist and drummer.
Awsome another keyboardist. My band is just short a bassist but we should be able to find one pretty easly.

King_Of_Terrors 12-30-2005 03:47 PM

So your saying power metal isn't hard to play on keys?

Thor 12-30-2005 03:48 PM
So your saying power metal isn't hard to play on keys?
I would certainly not. He obviously hasn't heard Children of Bodom or Dragonforce if he thinks that.

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 03:48 PM

*Cough*Dreamtheater*cough*

Shadows 12-30-2005 03:49 PM

Janne Warman > all keyboardists \m/

It is ashame anout Martin Powell leaving though.

azbassman 12-30-2005 03:52 PM
Janne Warman > all keyboardists \m/

It is ashame anout Martin Foul leaving though.
Yeah he was a good keyboardist. Nothing really complicated it just fit perfectly into the music.

King_Of_Terrors 12-30-2005 07:01 PM

Where did the name Cradle Of Filth come from?

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 07:04 PM
Yeah he was a good keyboardist. Nothing really complicated it just fit perfectly into the music.
Powell is his real name.

I don't actually know where the name came from.
A nugget of info I have never come across, now you come to mention it.

Aaron_Of_Oz 12-30-2005 07:08 PM
Where did the name Cradle Of Filth come from?
so would you say you are now a cradle of filth fan?

King_Of_Terrors 12-30-2005 07:44 PM

I guess so :D

I like to know alot about a band when I get into them.

azbassman 12-30-2005 07:49 PM
I guess so :D

:thumb: yes we've converted another one.

King_Of_Terrors 12-30-2005 07:51 PM

You didn't convert me. I was going to look into them, then the thread popped up! Whoa! Thanks anyway.

Aaron_Of_Oz 12-30-2005 07:52 PM

job well done guys, King of Terrors came in this thread not listening to cradle of filth and after a few recommendations has been converted:thumb:

azbassman 12-30-2005 08:12 PM
You didn't convert me. I was going to look into them, then the thread popped up! Whoa! Thanks anyway.
well we helped you along. What stuff did you end up getting?

King_Of_Terrors 12-30-2005 08:13 PM

Fine, you did convert me! :p

I got Midian and Nymphetamine.

Shadows 12-30-2005 08:13 PM
Powell is his real name.

Powell or Foul? I think they like to mold their names into something reletively grotesque or intimidating, yet slightly humorous.

King_Of_Terrors 12-30-2005 08:15 PM

So your saying his real name is Powell but he goes by Foul?

azbassman 12-30-2005 08:16 PM
So your saying his real name is Powell but he goes by Foul?
His real name is Powell, but on the albums his last name is Foul.

King_Of_Terrors 12-30-2005 08:17 PM

I wonder why he would do that.

I think I will buy some CoF albums, they are probably popular enough to have them in CD stores. But I DID pay for the two albums I got.

Lord Abortion 12-30-2005 08:18 PM

Well, yes.

Gian Pyres was John Piras
Dani Is Dan Davey
Dave is Herr Pubis
James was Germs warfare

I love the lyric sheets. The band descriptions in Cruelty and the beast are brilliant.

King_Of_Terrors 12-30-2005 08:19 PM

Dani Filth is a pretty cool name actually.
