Ok, a really great and really underrated song, in my opinion, is Blackbird. I love that song. Its brilliant. Also, its the first song I ever learned to play on the guitar.
I thought you already stated that numerous times.

I agree though;)

Woodstock 12-18-2004 09:50 PM
I went to that big library in London last year (Brittish Library?) and it had the Magna Carta, Shakespeare, and hand-written Beatles lyrics, the most notable being "In My Life" of which a significant amount had been scribbled out, that was interesting, something you can't get here in Los Estados Unidos

I love the keyboard/harpsichord solo
Yeah, I love that solo too. Same with the unexpected beetnick organ solo in I'm Looking Through You.

Walrus Gumboot 12-18-2004 10:16 PM

Beetnick organ solo? :listens again: haha now that I think about it, it is rather unexpected
while we are on the subject of solos on Rubber Soul I have to bring up that guitar solo in the middle and end of Michelle.. ohh one of my very favorites, that is

I love the song Michelle.

::sighs:: I learned how to play it on the bass as soon as I got smart enough to realize that I could play EADG guitar songs on bass

Does anyone know what the deal is with that little thing at the end of "A Day In The Life"?
I tracked down a copy of SPLHCB on vinyl and to my great shock and dissapointment it didn't have it
This is weird considering I heard from someone that on vinyl it just keeps on repeating until you take the needle off :isn't sure that this is even possible:

No, it's just one long E-chord

Ah.....the random high pitched noise and The Beatles saying weird stuff backwards and stuff after the E major chord during a Day in the Life.

This was only on the British vinyl, not on the American issue. When they released the BEatles on CD, they did the British versions (except for MMT, which was the US version) because they were the original ones and weren't 'torn apart' by Capitol (notice how pre-Pepper's albums differ between UK and US in not only songs, but album names and even number of albums). Thus you'll find the weird crap on the CD, but unless you get a British copy of Sgt. Pepper's, you won't find it.

Revolution is a pretty underated song,
I don't really like revolution 9, some of the stuff said in it is pretty funny though.

Can anyone clarify this for me,
one of my friends claims that "for the majority of the white album, Paul McCartney played the drums"
Is this true?
(Cause if it is, he owned Ringo :p)

No, Paul McCartney only played drums on Back In The USSR. They tried to make Ringo think it was his drumming, but he knew better. So, he was pretty pissed at Paul.

I thought that song sounded highly-un-ringo ish

Yeah, I did... sorry. I just love that song so much, and now I had an excuse to say it again! Oh, and in case everyone didn't get it the first half dozen times... BLACKBIRD OWNS ME!

Well, I'm no genius about vinyl, so you'll have to excuse me for sounding like a moron when I talk about it, but from what I've heard, what they did was have the end of the vinyl be a circle, rather than a spiral, so it would keep replaying it over and over again.

Walrus Gumboot 12-19-2004 05:26 PM

*eem, well vinyl.. you see, um, it black, and shiney.. and*
yeah, thats what I was thinking if anything

I'll have to keep an eye out for a UK version

haha!
That's so awesome, I didn't even know you could do that.

DeusExMachina 12-19-2004 06:24 PM

Yeah. I don't have any vinyl (my parents had a super awesome collection, but it all burnt away when i was 4...:upset: ) But apparently Piper At The Gates of Dawn had some weird thing where it went back to the start when you finished the vinyl, so it auto repeated... I know its the wrong band, but yeah, on the topic of vinyl. Does anyone know what's actually being said at the end of Sgt. Peppers? It sounds kind of like "never could be any other way" but its really hard to tell.

"Could be" sounds like "*****" to me, which makes sense, as they always threw perverted stuff into their records.

Ah hell, **** censor lock. Okay, its poissy, where oi=u.

gmoneyguy 12-19-2004 07:07 PM

hahaha paul is dead, I buried paul, etc

Walrus Gumboot 12-19-2004 07:14 PM

I think its "never could be any other way"
but the more pressing question of course would be:
What are they saying at the end of I am The Walrus?
I've heard
Everybody Clap Clap
and
Everybody's got one

gmoneyguy 12-19-2004 07:37 PM

I buried paul isn't it

DeusExMachina 12-19-2004 09:05 PM

Not sure, but there is a lot of talk about Paul is Dead in some of the stuff. Supposedly, in Revolution 9, you're supposed to hear the car crash that "killed" Paul. Also, supposedly "number nine" backwards is "turn me on dead man" but I don't know how they'd get that to work.

gmoneyguy 12-19-2004 09:09 PM

I forgot wich song has "haha paul is dead"at the end

DeusExMachina 12-19-2004 09:17 PM

Not sure which one. They had so much weird stuff in their music, its hard to keep up with it all.

gmoneyguy 12-19-2004 09:19 PM

I used to know it. I think it might be in I am the walrus, and I buried paul is another song.
I'll rember it when I listen to it before I go to bed.

I don't think so, George owned his solo career.

Random clips of things the beatles said around abbey road recording studio, cut up and spliced into each other so that it sounds wierd. Lennon's the one who came up and did it all. Must have been to much bad acid
