On the topic of Halford's sexuality, is he gay or bi? Just curious.
He's 100%, absolutely, not sure.

Perhaps he just loves to love... and being straight or gay cuts the potential for lurve down by 50%.....

Edit - anyone else got their suggestions for the worst Priest track of all time?

Riva 11-28-2005 08:27 AM

Easily Parental Guidance. Though Live Bites and Turbo Lover are a bit... irritating.

Kronos 11-28-2005 08:29 AM

Yay! Our minds are as one!

Eat Me Alive sucks major balls too

Riva 11-28-2005 08:30 AM

We shall form the Judas Priest overmind soon enough.

Just a little more time...

Kronos 11-28-2005 08:42 AM

Indeed so it will come to pass...

love priest cant get enough Living After Midnight is my favorite all the way

Riva 11-28-2005 07:22 PM

Hang on, I'll try changing your avatar.

And yeah, Living is one of the better songs on BS.

No fair, you got the 666 post in a Priest thread ;)
I'm obsessed with painkiller right now, can't belive how long he holds the scream at the end.

ThrashMaster27 11-28-2005 07:27 PM

I thought Wild Nights, Hot and Crazy Days sucked pretty hard too.

Turbo isn't that bad once you give it a few listens. It does grate quite a bit, but I'd listen to it over Point of Entry and Rocka Rolla.

What is your avatar now? I'm sure in some way this displaying my power metal ineptitute.

Worst Priest track I've heard has to be Turbo Lover. I was not happy when they played that live.

Cheers J!

Ah, the power of Mod-ship....

Actually, I don't like much off British Steel - it always seemed so unoriginal after their previous albums. Very commercialised.

I suppose tho', that I ought to bear in mind that professional bands do have to make money - it's their job, so I shouldn't be too critical.

rippa32 11-29-2005 03:39 AM

To heavyriva I never meant to judge him on his sexuality or say it would affect his music, I'm not like that. I was just merely curious.

ThrashMaster27 11-29-2005 03:40 AM

It's the same with me. I did used to like British Steel quite a lot, but there's nothing special on it. Where's the falsetto!?

Grinder is probably my fave track off BS.

Kronos 11-29-2005 03:47 AM

The only thing that makes me smile about Rob's sexual orientation is that it took us all so long to figure it out!

Jeez, I've got a book about Heavy Metal (ages old ) and there's loads of pics of Priest in it, and in all of them Rob looks as camp as Christmas!

You know, funny little leather biker cap with chain on peak, leather waistcoat with nothing on underneath it, leather trousers tight as you like, earring, S&M -style studded collars and stuff.

In retrospect, it couldn't have been more obvious if he'd worn a huge badge with "I AM GAY!" written on it.

I was a bit slow in those days...:upset:

ThrashMaster27 11-29-2005 03:50 AM

Yeah, it's quite funny.

There was, or still might be a video on the Priest website of them playing The Hellion/Electric Eye live. Halford looks too gay for words on it... he even goes limp wristed at one point. Made me laugh.

Kronos 11-29-2005 04:05 AM

Have you seen the video of them on the UK TV show "The Old Grey Whistle Test" from 1976? (long shot, I know)

Early days I know, but Rob's wearing a purple velvet outfit with like huge baggy cuffs (like goth chicks often wear). And he looks more camp than a row of pink tents.

The signs were there.......

Romanticide 11-29-2005 04:32 AM

heh, good timing, iw as just listening to breaking the law.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-20-2005 11:38 PM

teh bumps

Has anyone got Rising In The East yet?

Riva 12-21-2005 02:42 AM

Haven't seen it in any shops, to be honest. I've been keeping one eye out for it, also.

Deth 12-21-2005 10:58 AM

I should be getting it for Christmas. From the couple of songs I've seen online, it looks really good.

GenuineImitation 12-21-2005 02:57 PM

When did they come out with Rising In The East?

NP: Judas Priest - All Guns Blazing

Deth 12-21-2005 02:59 PM

November I think.

Because I posted it in the Maiden thread, you all deserve to see it.

Three Brazilians performing Painkiller on air instruments. Hilarious.

Thats great. The singer even dressed up as Rob.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-21-2005 07:53 PM

haha sounds good.

I'll have to watch it later though.

Kronos 12-23-2005 03:31 AM

Been listening to Run Of The Mill a lot recently, ever since Jose [Daven] was good enough to YSI me it (I've got Rocka Rolla on vinyl and tape, but nothing to play them on)
What a great track - the only decent one on RR, but it might even make me buy the CD just to get it.
Also brings home to me what a great drummer John Hinch was, I wonder why he left/got kicked out?

classicrockman 12-24-2005 09:18 PM

Wow...I just got 'Painkiller.' "Metal Meltdown" is such a kick-*** song!!

Deth 12-24-2005 09:19 PM

That's one of my favorite albums. Not a weak track on it.

Cool. I just got it in the mail, and I'm gonna start listening to it tomorrow. Good christmas music, eh?

Deth 12-24-2005 09:22 PM

Can't argue with that.

My favorite song is definitly Painkiller on the album though. The solo is better than sex.
