A-Life-Less-Plagued 08-05-2004 12:39 PM

It's out August 10th. I NEED MONEY.

syrUsbilt 08-05-2004 12:43 PM

bwahah nice. I just bought Stand & Fight's new one. It's amazing.

Silvermedalmafia 08-05-2004 12:45 PM

Bastard, I'm poor.

syrUsbilt 08-05-2004 12:47 PM

I have a job. How cool am I?

Silvermedalmafia 08-05-2004 12:54 PM

So do I, scooping ice cream. BUTTTTT Payday isn't until friday.:(

syrUsbilt 08-05-2004 12:54 PM

hahah! My friend worked at Coldstone (an Ice cream chain) and she had to sing songs for tips. It was SOOOOOO lame. I felt horrible for her. She hated that job so much haha.

Egh, I don't care for Stand & Fight.

Silvermedalmafia 08-05-2004 12:55 PM

hahaha, singing. Tips are weird, split 5 ways on sunday we each got 5.75, but on the friday of that week split 4 ways, we each got 1.50. Crazy.

syrUsbilt 08-05-2004 12:57 PM

Tipshare is workplace communism. We have to throw in for mandatory tipshare to tip out the dishwasher, host and bartender (I wait tables) and its pretty crappy, I've lost up to 5 bucks on tipshare.

Silvermedalmafia 08-05-2004 01:00 PM

Yeah, It isn't as bad at my place, because we don't wait on anybody, they come up to the counter. We have a tip jar by the main ordering place (we also do lunches) and a "College Fund Please Help" jar by the ice cream counter. At 3:00 (when 3 of the five people leave) we just split it five ways, and the two people left throw their money back into the tip jar and let it accumulate until when they leave.

syrUsbilt 08-05-2004 01:03 PM

meh I can make up to 80 dollars a night (a REALLY REALLY BUSY night though) on tips.

Silvermedalmafia 08-05-2004 01:06 PM

holy crap. 3 dollars a day is good for me. You bastard in a classy restraunt.

shane italian 08-05-2004 01:41 PM

I just officially quit smoking.

Sex Pistols 08-05-2004 01:51 PM

Sigh

Smoke five Ciggarettes at once and you'll impress me, rookie

shane italian 08-05-2004 01:52 PM

Sorry, I quit. :thumb:
That sounds nice. I'm looking for the full band list.
http://www.strhessfest.com/bands.php

That sure was tricky to find.

cbmartinez 08-05-2004 04:55 PM

Shush. I was to lazy to actually look for it. Are you going Buddy?

shane italian 08-05-2004 04:59 PM

Why would they have it in Cleveland? Lame. Only good thing to come out of there is One Life Crew.

Bubba, know of any good fests coming to SoCal?

BuddyBigsby 08-05-2004 08:56 PM

Nah Cb, it's on the other side of the country.

Man, we get very very few fests here gc. We have Che Fest in San Diego, Sink With Cali Fest, and Facedown Fest, but that already happened. None of which have any big bands or anything.Sink With Cali and Che though have a lot of straight-up hardcore-y goodness. I miiiiiiiiight go to Sink With Cali but I'm not sure. Here's the info.

Che Fest: http://sandiegocore.com/chehcfest.htm

shane italian 08-05-2004 09:07 PM

Thanks a lot.

shane italian 08-05-2004 09:12 PM

When is Sink With Cali?

BuddyBigsby 08-05-2004 09:44 PM

August 14th and 15th.

PoisonParadox 08-06-2004 12:58 AM

Syrus why is your profile picture so big?

syrUsbilt 08-06-2004 01:01 AM

I had a certain mod who is a good aquaintance of mine put it there before we were allowed to have profile pics. I didn't take it down (its an old picture) because its so big.

BrokenHeartedMisery 08-06-2004 04:35 AM

It took far too long for someone to post a thread like this, I totally agree that people throw around "hardcore" far too freely now,

Thankfully Im from Boston and we know our hardcore hahaha thanks to Mental.

Metalcore is becoming as mainstream as pop punk so I have confidence that in time the line between Hardcore/Metalcore will become more defined with breakout bands like Atreyu going mainstream and bringing their metalcore type stuff with them

cbmartinez 08-06-2004 11:39 AM

That is true, but as long as the bands themselves continue to call themselves hardcore, your going to get more and more kids calling metalcore, hardcore.

LuncHBox71 08-06-2004 12:08 PM

well done, kid. i myself have gotten more into a heavier sound than punk. there's only so much you can do with 3 or 4 power chords..

LuncHBox71 08-06-2004 01:05 PM

true. but punk in itself is usually just a pattern of power chords

shane italian 08-06-2004 02:30 PM

Tonight is Terror/Champion. Mmmm.

LuncHBox71 08-06-2004 02:30 PM

exactly. what you play doesn't expose your talent. true musical talent in my opinion is how creatively and how well you convey a message you're trying to get out.
