Not one bit.

Tyler 06-16-2007 03:53 PM

I am. Doubt there'll be any core on it at all though.

encmetalhead 06-16-2007 03:57 PM

yeah the time and number of tracks looks like a dream theatre CD so i think they might be takign the core out altogether

They pretty much did that already with Alaska. And no band is dumb enough to play Dream Theater besides Dream Theater. ****, I hate Dream Theater so much.

AA-12 06-16-2007 03:59 PM

DT is better than BTBAM. BTBAM has good members but writes horrible, horrible music.

Tyler 06-16-2007 04:00 PM

DT doesn't even write music anymore. They just take parts from their best album and fill in the extra space with shitty solos.

AA-12 06-16-2007 04:03 PM

That's more like BTBAM really except without the good parts.

Tyler 06-16-2007 04:05 PM

Pointless taste arguments ITT about bands that aren't relevant to the thread ITT ITT.

encmetalhead 06-16-2007 04:09 PM

to many ITTs ITT

Nepenthe 06-16-2007 04:09 PM

BTBAM really just plays their same shitty brand of metal over and over, and then randomly inserts some 'progressive' part that makes absolutely no sense in the context of the song.

Tyler 06-16-2007 04:11 PM

I beg to differ but this won't get anywhere. I heard a funny story from a friend of mine about them though but I cant' say who. But, apparently Dan (of GK at the time and he's in BTBAM now) thinks this guy we know slept with his gf. And apparently, except for Paul, they're all wieners.

Txus 06-16-2007 04:11 PM

How can one not like Selkies: the Endless Obsession or any BTBAM is beyond me. Yes, I'm really excited about the new album.

Nepenthe 06-16-2007 04:16 PM

They're just another band that kiddos who don't know better think are progressive. Pointlessly throwing together completely nonrelated music sections isn't really all that progressive.

AA-12 06-16-2007 04:17 PM

Amen to that

Tyler 06-16-2007 04:17 PM

It's not pointlessly thrown together though.

Nepenthe 06-16-2007 04:22 PM

I think it is. The parts that are supposed to be so 'progressive' like the clean sung section in all bodies, the its raaaainiiing part, etc, are basically just pitiful attempts at playing other genres in the most cliche way possible. And the way they integrate them into the overall sound makes no sense, they pop up from seemingly no where and aren't relevant whatsoever to what came before them and what comes after them.

Tyler 06-16-2007 04:23 PM

The "it's raining" part is pretty gay.

Nepenthe 06-16-2007 04:26 PM

Exactly, and it's like, where the **** did that come from? It doesn't make any sense. It was obviously just put in there for the sake of having a soft, slow section in there, and not because it actually did anything for the music.

Tyler 06-16-2007 04:27 PM

No I see where it comes from, it's just really boring and gay.

Dimmu Burger 06-16-2007 04:33 PM

I really like BTBAM and I look forward to the new album. I also like the "its raining" part.

What did Becoming The Archetype's previous album sound like?
