Gaslight, where have you been lately? I miss your confusing, constant changing of your avatar ;)

joe
Hey man, oh you know, just hanging out. Guitar, bass, nintendo, playstation, TV. Just hanging out.

And yeah haha, I have some sweet new ones to rotate every few days/weeks.

gaslight 02-08-2005 11:36 AM

So I have this problem.

I want to buy some new gear, but I don't know what to buy first.

I want...

+ Ibanez AEL40S Electric-acoustic guitar.
+ Ibanez AX120 Electric guitar.
+ Digitech Digiverb Pedal

Now the electric-acoustic is $895, the electric is $695, and the pedal is $230.

I have $310.

So, I could buy the pedal now, but then I'm back down to $70. Leaving me a big climb to get either guitar.

I don't have an acoustic guitar, so naturally I'd like to have one.

But, the pedal is the only thing I can buy that will benefit my band as well as me, because I play bass in my band and the other two things are only for my benefit.

And yeah, can't decide.

:(

some times at night when the forums are slow I feel like this guy

Espbassor 02-08-2005 11:37 AM

@ Gas: Save up and buy all three at the same time, that way you won't have to make a decision. Avoiding the problem for teh win!!

JoeDaddio 02-08-2005 11:39 AM

Buy what you want. If the only reason you wouldn't buy an acoustic guitar is because it'd be "selfish", I say screw that. It's your money, do with it want you like.

I think that should be in the rules. Visual aides are much more convincing...

ShelBel 02-08-2005 11:40 AM

I'm just sitting here at work, doing research on Windows Server 2003 and listening to Duran Duran (demos- stuff that didn't make the new CD that SHOULD have) and Incubus (weird combo, I know) and hanging out here, drooling over basses on eBay, and I "built" a custom Peavey Cirrus 5 yesterday that was $2300.... *cries*

I like this plan.

Now I need a get rich quick scheme.

That's really good.

It's funny but it's also totally true.

Everyone should watch it when they join.

Now see, he tried to pass off the new living room set we just bought as my "birthday present", but I'm like "How can something we were going to buy anyway be my present?"

I don't want anything too spendy, really. I'd settle for a Peavey Fury or an Ibanez BTB405. *sigh*

This bass makes me taste Peppermint Crisp chocolate bars.

JoeDaddio 02-08-2005 11:59 AM

Haha... see, the only way I'm ever going to get married is if I find myself a woman that understands that I don't care about things such as living room sets and matching sheets, and that I will never purchase such items unless I'm absolutley forced to. And she also has to recognize the fact that I AM COLORBLIND, therefore I cannot make any decisions about colors or designs, etc. My ex seemed to forget that fact, and would always rag on me because my clothes never matched.

Gaslight
, i'm 17 years old. been playing bass for about 2 weeks or more now. doing my cachelors in mass media. I'm too sleepy to think og what to say

ShelBel 02-08-2005 12:05 PM

Awww, poor Joe..... As long as you don't complain about what your future Mrs. purchases for said sheets and living room sets and colors, and she doesn't mind telling you to go back and change your shirt because it clashes with your pants and you can't tell (and doesn't rag on you about it, sheesh, its not your fault!), I think you'll be fine.

;)

@ black_star: I emailed you a gif of it this morning to you gmail account. :)

JoeDaddio 02-08-2005 12:08 PM

And she's also got to get all giddy over Elvis Costello. haha... If I meet a girl, and she likes Costello, she's already met half the requirements.

gaslight 02-08-2005 12:10 PM

Hitting it up to 5:10 AM here. I should really sleep soon but I want to play some Playstation for a while.

black_star 02-08-2005 12:13 PM

I never asked, why did you take the trouble of doing all that shelbel ?
i mean were you bored and wanted you bored and wanted something to do, or were you just being nice...as all bass players are :)
