i doubt you've heard the bands so you'll have to check them out first before you make that generalization. It's bands like Nastrond and Thornium that i'm going to be downloading.

and does anyone have Neolithic's For Destroy the Lament? i need to know if it's any good but i can't even find it anywhere.
When I said "any other name dropping death heads" I was making fun of you.

You don't do anything in this thread but randomly cite random shitty bands you've found. You don't persuade anyone to listen to them, you don't mention anything about their sound.

It's one of two situations:

a) You're looking to see if we think you should check out a band, meaning you're an impressionable tool
b) You're name dropping bands you've hardly listened to in an attempt to up your perceived elitenessity.

Deth 11-08-2007 10:50 PM

How about both?

Tyler 11-08-2007 10:51 PM

anyone heard invisigoth?

Deth 11-08-2007 10:52 PM

I almost started lolling irl when Visigoths were mentioned in my Humanistic Tradition class last week.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-08-2007 10:52 PM

That's beautiful.

masterchaos 11-08-2007 11:55 PM

So uhhh....Skeletonwitch anyone?

Nostalgia 11-09-2007 12:36 AM

Shut the hell up.

Tyler 11-09-2007 12:37 AM

I repeat, "any other name dropping death heads?".

Anyone know of any recent-ish releases I may have missed that I should look into? Old school stuff is great and all but there has to be some new stuff coming out that isn't terrible.

i am the robots 11-09-2007 01:04 AM

FGOV, and the new Hacksaw To The Throat was pretty badass too.

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 01:06 AM

The Ocean's new album is due out soon i believe. I don't know if they are your cup of tea or not though.

EDIT: nvm i misread your post.

Tyler 11-09-2007 01:08 AM

I'll check anything out that isn't in the "LOL WE LOVE SLAUGHTER OF THE SOUL" vein.

AA-12 11-09-2007 01:08 AM

They aren't DM.

i am the robots 11-09-2007 01:10 AM

FGOV and Hacksaw To The Throat? Yeah they are **** you.

Txus 11-09-2007 01:10 AM

Check out Deception, tyler.

AA-12 11-09-2007 01:11 AM
FGOV and Hacksaw To The Throat? Yeah they are **** you.
i am the robots 11-09-2007 01:12 AM

Well **** You

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 01:14 AM
wtf your post was like a mile away. I was talking to COA u nub.
yeah i figured you were talking to me. I didn't realize he meant only death metal at first. my bad.

Doesn't Impaled have a new album out?

i am the robots 11-09-2007 01:17 AM

Yeah, it's real good.

Unrelated, but I never realized how goddamn amazing Intestine Baalism's vocals are until today.

Tyler 11-09-2007 01:18 AM

They need something new. Both of their albums slay and they're both very different.

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 01:22 AM

I've never heard of them. I'll check them out.

Tyler 11-09-2007 01:22 AM

You really should. I prefer their second album but you really can't go wrong. Perfect blend of melody and brutality.

i am the robots 11-09-2007 01:26 AM

Yeah, they're absolutely amazing.

I used to like A Banquet In The Darkness more, but An Anatomy Of The Beast has really grown on me.

Blasphemy Resurrected is so goddamn good.

And Through The Eyes Of The Dead totally ripped-off the intro for The Annihilation Of Expectation off of Corporeal Celebration, about a minute and a half in.

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 01:28 AM

Their myspace songs sound cool so far.

i am the robots 11-09-2007 02:06 AM

Why did all of you fags make such a huge deal when Vitek died but not give a damn when Kyle Watz died?

OH YEAH LOL KYLE WATZ DIED BEFORE HIS BAND COULD GET FAMOUS

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 02:12 AM

who?

i am the robots 11-09-2007 02:35 AM

In Death We Rise's old bassist.

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 02:39 AM

Are you serious about comparing those events?
If you are, then i would be tempted to call you an idiot.

i am the robots 11-09-2007 02:44 AM

HE DIED IN A CAR CRASH AND HE WAS IN A DEATH METAL BAND

One of my favorite bands stopped touring because of it, idk.

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 02:49 AM

Yeah but you are complaining why more people mourned Vitek over Kyle Watz?

Decapitated is insanely more well known than In Death We Rise.

I mean, seriously, they had what one EP? Come on now.

i am the robots 11-09-2007 03:06 AM

I know I'm just bored.

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 03:54 AM

that is no excuse sir.

i am the robots 11-09-2007 04:02 AM

Your mom's an excuse.

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 04:04 AM

oh good one.

Cianide?
Sup Dom?
I haven't heard either release, but I'm quite enjoying he new Immolation. some parts are a bit more straight forward, but there's still enough trademark wacky stuff.
Hey mate, how are you? I am pretty good. Two days from finishing school forever :) Got exams however :( I am ready for those beers with you in Holland :p

I got my Interview for my Bachelor in Music Composition at the Australian National University in 2 weeks :)

Yeah. Most people rave about Thantos being very good and I can imagine as I really liked Emerging from the Netherworlds at first but now its boring. I think I might just have a bad album of theres. In their long career I am sure they have a few. I might get some of their other stuff later but my recommendation is stay away from Emerging from the Netherworlds.

Yeah. Looking at your LastFm and the Immolation plays you made me inspired to get some Immolation. Perhaps I should get some of their new stuff because Here in After is a little off in my opinion. The riffs are just awkward at times.

I only have Winds of Creation by Decapitated. Are any other albums by them really worthwhile getting?

PS: With all that Warcraft talk before. Get World in Conflict. That game owns my school work.

PSS: I would like to draw you attention to the most Metal video of all time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALrRD_nNd1E

Lol, that man never fails to make me giggle...at him.

masscows 11-09-2007 09:22 AM

Nihility is great, alot of people don't agree though.

Why do you think I said Skeletonwitch? I wasnt just name-dropping, they're about the most recent album Ive bought and Ive been really happy about it.

So how bout you check 'em out instead of assuming I just throw names out there for the hell of it :thumb:
1.When I said "any other name dropping death heads" I was making fun of you.
2.You don't do anything in this thread but randomly cite random poopty bands you've found. You don't persuade anyone to listen to them, you don't mention anything about their sound.

a) You're looking to see if we think you should check out a band, meaning you're an impressionable tool
b) You're name dropping bands you've hardly listened to in an attempt to up your perceived elitenessity.
1. obviously, which was why i said earlier in regards to deth's post "why does everyone frown upon it?" If we mention new bands there will be new discussion.
2. not true. i've brought up Nocturnus, Monstrosity, Carnage, Experiment Fear, etc. These are bands I see no one else really mentions, well except for eliminator when he's trying to be funny. I've told everyone numerous times to check out The Key, Imperial Doom, Dark Recollections, and Choir Invisible. Those are all I can remember at this point, but i persuaded quite a bit, and no one seemed interested in discussing. not my problem.
A+B. both false. I only "namedrop" bands not in an attempt to look cool or elite, or because I'm impressionable, I'm merely seeking a recommendation. ie Neolithic yesterday, and if there was a review posted for it on MA i wouldn't have asked at all. But as of the current moment I have no knowledge of Neolithic's sound at all and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they were worth my time, or maybe give some insight on their general sound.

So please, get your facts straight before you make these kinds of assumptions.
