I saw opeth last night. It was a pretty good concert. Played tons of great songs! Didnt play ghost of perdition or windowpane like i wanted them too though :(. Oh well. they still did an amazing concert with tons of great songs!

Probably my least favorite off of BWP... I actually prefer Patterns to this song.

That's unfortunate. Patterns is good, but I just can't get Harvest out of my head. That along with Leper Affinity.

Just read it, good review dude. Thats the only Nevermore album I haven't heard.. and they're one of my favorite bands. Dreaming Neon Black seems to be my favorite, though that changes almost daily. :p

I think the new TGE is very capable of being considered their best, right alongside DNB.

What hype about [I]Bleak[/I]? I don't know hardly anyone that likes the song. It's one of my favorite Opeth songs. I like the structure of the song, it's unheard of. Especially when the bass line comes in at around 6:40, I lose myself in it every time. God that song is so mesmerizing. I love it.

Most everyone seems to love it around here. There are sections of it that really hit me as incredible, but overall I think the other songs overshadow it.

I can't believe I used to hate this album. This is amazing.

I have to admit, after listening to GR today (and many other times), it's definitely their weakest album. I would say Orchid because it has one or two mediocre tracks but the vibe and some of the songs are so amazing. Its just that GR doesn't really feel THAT emotional or deep compared to, say, MAYH. The only real exceptions are GoP, BotH and Isolation years. Otherwise, Atonement, Hours of Wealth and Beneath the Mire are all great songs. The Grand Conjuration has some good moments. And R/HF really doesn't do it for me at all, very uninspired and the lyrics are kind of dumb at parts. Does anyone agree?

This album is really hitting me deep. The acoustic intro on Funeral Portrait is quite impressive, But for some reason, I keep coming back to one song.

The whole album is impressive, espicially Bleak. I can't count how many times I've listened to that song. I will [I]never[/I] get sick of it. And I'm glad hardly anyone else likes it, it just makes it so much better.

I love the vocals on The Funeral Portrait. He sounds really, really angry for most of the song, and the heavy parts with screaming often come right after a clean break or interlude. It's better than Dirge IMO.
