FatPete: I think we concluded that the black dahlia murder are NOT metalcore, rather they are melo-death

Pete 11-02-2007 03:49 AM

yes, i just wanted to continue that same boring stupid bi-weekly argument where people cant distinguish between death metal and metalcore

encmetalhead 11-02-2007 05:28 AM

yeah it gets boring though

Concubine 11-02-2007 06:44 AM

the problem is people often fail to acknowledge that metalcore came out of hardcore, not metal

masscows 11-02-2007 08:52 AM

yeah metalcore has nothing to do with metal bro!

....

His point still stands. Most people on here seem to have no actual understanding of hardcore, and forget that it's metallic hardcore.

masscows 11-02-2007 08:59 AM

Well, there is some metalcore that has more to do with metal than hardcore, like early Unearth and early Darkest Hour.

True, but the majority of actual metalcore bands, at least initially, built off of a hardcore foundation.

but then again, darkest hour isnt a metalcore band, since they dont play metallic hardcore

gee, whats so hard to grasp about the concept of metallic hardcore?

(can't comment on unearth as i havent really listened to them)

Early Darkest Hour has its fair share of hardcore influence.

I was listening to 7 Angels 7 Plagues last night. They have some really good songs. They need more respect.

they're ok

the vocals and the overuse generic chugga2 breakdowns don't do anything for me

i am the robots 11-02-2007 12:59 PM

The breakdowns are a bit much, but they're an early band, so I don't mind it.

They've kind of got their own sound, they're real good though.

Aakon_Keetreh 11-02-2007 01:32 PM

i like skycamefalling the most out of any metalcore band. Maybe not as much as prayer for cleansing though.

Misery Signals

RetiredAt21 11-02-2007 02:39 PM

They do not sound like Misery Signals.

i am the robots 11-02-2007 02:41 PM

Yeah, seriously, wtf?
i like skycamefalling the most out of any metalcore band. Maybe not as much as prayer for cleansing though.
Skycamefalling and PFC are indeed awesome.

For me it's a toss-up between Skycamefalling and Underoath [lol broken spacebar bands].

RetiredAt21 11-02-2007 02:42 PM

Skycamefalling destroys Underoath.

i am the robots 11-02-2007 02:44 PM

I'd agree if Changing Of Times didn't exist, that album is just too damn good... I've been listening to it nonstop for the past five years and it still hasn't gotten old.
