that's what she said

Neoteric 06-21-2008 12:00 PM

very original, well done.

Russell 06-21-2008 12:06 PM

I expect some applause.

combustion07 06-22-2008 12:55 AM

You get none...

rasputin 06-23-2008 09:27 AM

Contrary to a lot of talk going on in here, the new Esoteric is pretty good. I finally got it and I'm rather impressed, it's much better than their last album.

the2stranger 06-24-2008 05:11 AM

I wouldn't day better, or atleast not now already.
It'll take acouple of listens for me to 'get it'.

But so far, it's pretty ****ing good. The songwriting is a bit more diverse then on SDItC, and that's kickass of course.
The production is even better then on SDItC, fat and big.

I think this is going to end high on my yearlist.

repcak 06-24-2008 05:25 AM

I wrote a review about Moss - Sub Templum album... it sucks... it got 3points (out of 5), but tbh. it deserves just 2/5; it sucks.

rasputin 06-24-2008 06:09 AM

Yeah the2stranger, the production and diversity are really good. There are a lot more heavier and aggressive parts to it as well (a good thing), which Subconscious Dissolution lacked. Definitely a solid album though.

Yeah, the new blum is more aggressive.
Although I must say I enjoyed the ethereal parts on Subconcious a lot too.
Like for example, the first few minutes of The Blood Of The Eyes.

Really?
:(

I still have to check it out, it's been hyped so much.
But judging from the previous release, some ultra nasty, disgusting, stomach turning and filthy drone is always good.

repcak 06-24-2008 09:40 AM

yes, its not really worth it.
Even another reviews gave it 2/5 points. Read other Review, download it and if you really would like to have it; you can have it from me :)
If you like I can send you the promotion Cd (i don't need it really).

the2stranger 06-24-2008 09:44 AM

Aight
Have you heard the first release by them?

I'll have a listen first.
But I'd like to have the promo if that's ok for you, you could take it with you if you come and visit me or so.
Thanks in advance. :)

np: Lesbian - Loadbath

repcak 06-24-2008 09:49 AM

No, Sub Templum is the first album I've heard by them.
Yes, true... If you want to wait, I can take it with me :)
23.8 I am flying ^^

the2stranger 06-24-2008 09:53 AM

Cool man, I can wait.
I'm looking forward to the meet-up!
:chug:

repcak 06-24-2008 10:04 AM

yup. me too, though I haven't planned anything yet;
I will do all this in mid-july... enough time.

the2stranger 06-24-2008 10:28 AM

That's time enough indeed.

I think I'll have a few more listens of thenew Eoteric album and maybe then, write a review. :)
Although it will be a difficult album to review.

repcak 06-24-2008 11:47 AM

yup, i do.

soap402 06-24-2008 01:55 PM

...and sleep, kalas, church of misery....

the2stranger 06-24-2008 01:59 PM

And tons of other bands.

Welcome to this thread, but just namedropping doesn't get any discussion going.
Please take note of that next time.

Anyways:
I'm really enjoying the new Mar De Grises, they have a new vocalist/keyboardist apparently, but actually I don't hear any difference. :-\

I love how they kept their unique sound though, I'm not tired of it one moment.
This'll end high on my year list.

Shattered_Future 06-24-2008 04:09 PM

That's one of my favorite '08 albums so far.

pate 06-24-2008 05:25 PM
The Pale Haunt Departure
The Novella Reservoir.
I would add To Welcome The Fade to that list.

Sponer 06-26-2008 11:19 PM

so i bought Sunn O)))'s Black One. Listened to it, liked it, blah blah blah.

so now, it's like 1:15am and I just got back from a walk around town listening to the album.

holy poop.

it's really cool how the random noises mix in with the "music" making it even creepier. Like, I walked over a bridge and at first I thought the sound of the water flowing was part of the recording. And then I walked past this factory and that was making all kinds of f-ed noises. And going through all these dark alleys, random air conditioners would get louder as I get closer and yea. cool ****.

rasputin 06-26-2008 11:56 PM

I havent' listened to the new Mar De Grises, but I didn't really like the Tatterdemalion Express, so I don't think I'll check it out. Unless you guys urge me to.

gmoneyguy 06-27-2008 08:11 AM
get flight of the behemoth and play it really loud on a good stereo
To get the full effect of any drone album you need a good stereo, tbh.

RetiredAt21 06-27-2008 12:16 PM

Any Moss fans?

RetiredAt21 06-27-2008 12:20 PM

I love Cthonic Rites. Crypts Of Somnambulance (sp?) is devastating.

gmoneyguy 06-27-2008 12:23 PM

The only moss I have is the split with Nadja

gmoneyguy 06-27-2008 12:31 PM

hahaha, I will. I found a broken link on bunalti for it.

repcak 06-27-2008 03:26 PM
get their newest album

repcak doesn't like it, so you know it's good
