LP is disappointing; the two best songs of it were already released on that tour demo :(

Then I push my hair back
Then I mess it up <3
Then I bite my tongue and sing what you're all saying:
You swore you'd live your life without regret
What do you wait forrrrrr?

Seriously, listen to Omeed's cover of that, it's so good.

Dude, ARC is fucking classic. If you saw them live you wouldn't be so smugly disagreeing. :)

P.S. John's vocals sound the best in that band imo.

witchxrapist 12-09-2010 05:25 PM

Street Smart Cyclist is pissing me off... you HAVE TO use pay pal to buy tickets for their reunion show? What? What the fuck is that?

christsimpson 12-09-2010 06:37 PM

that's straight up retarded. just shoot a msg to John or whoever and they'll probably sort you out.

i was loling @ christ's obvious bias towards saying the more underground is better

js

ARC isn't as good as SSC or Snowing though imo

christsimpson 12-09-2010 07:23 PM

I have no idea which band is more "underground". ARC have the most accessible sound, so if anything I'd think they were the more popular band. they are far far superior to Snowing, which essentially is a much much better SSC.

edit:
also how do I have an "obvious bias" to like something that's more underground? that makes no sense.

witchxrapist 12-09-2010 07:40 PM

ARC was big on a local scale, but not like the other bands.

They were so good though.

Also, seriously, how good is the Madeline Ferguson / Bury Me Standing Split?

I like it a lot at least. :>

christsimpson 12-09-2010 08:44 PM

listening to Don't Need Regret right now. how fucking sad is this album? it's perfect. this is the emo.

are you people incapable of answering simple questions?

and why hasn't anyone listened to midi & the modern dance yet? serious faggotry going on in these parts

christsimpson 12-10-2010 12:49 AM

those of you who liked Kråkesølv, here's their maybe best song from the new album performed live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU3bTSVCjD4. real good.

12XU 12-10-2010 01:08 AM

nah man skredder is their best

aarolilja 12-10-2010 07:43 AM
nah man skredder is their best
that's true, but that's from the first album

christsimpson 12-10-2010 07:43 AM

that's not on the new album... also no it's not. that's probably the untitled track from the new album or "Kastes".

too bad both albums are pretty poorly produced/mixed/engineered/whatever, because the songs are great.

ironically enough their best songs are weaker live due to no brass section. the rest is excellent live though due to the much rawer guitar tone and overall intensity and lack of polish.

aarolilja 12-10-2010 07:45 AM
that's not on the new album... also no it's not. that's probably the untitled track from the new album or "Kastes".
wrong, Kastes is their worst song

I liked the cover of it; fuck, I wish I could sing sometimes.

Hook up a dl link negro.

christsimpson 12-10-2010 11:18 AM

Snowing album is better today. but some songs are so insanely more memorable than others. the demo had "Inspecter Magic" and "Pump Fake", this one has "Why Am I Not Going Underwater?", "Could Be Better Forever" and "I Think We're in Minsk". when they do that guitar thing I get fuzzy on the inside. but then they just go several songs without doing it, and I just don't understand why, because it's so great when they do it. the rest of the songs are really cool, but when compared to the best ones, I just want to ask why.

sometimes i get drunk at night
with one drink just lasting til 5
and most nights im too drunk to drive

xMalcolmXx 12-10-2010 03:51 PM

yeah i have a soft spot for the twinkly guitar parts. probably explains why i jizz over algernon so much.

christsimpson 12-10-2010 05:43 PM

I don't mean the twinkly guitar parts. those are the ones that are totally non-memorable. I mean the washing guitars like The Pine and Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate).

I can't find a dl link either. :(

But yeah, singing is fun ya.

I love that cover so much.

Also, finally got the Saddest Landscape/PBTT split in good quality, so awes.

Is the stuff before TSL's most recent release this year any good as well?

witchxrapist 12-11-2010 12:03 AM

I could never get into their earlier stuff, but their new stuff is amazing.

And seriously, it's awesome how their vocalist sounds like he's losing his mind at the beginning of Death Becomes Us.

12XU 12-11-2010 02:48 AM

Andrew Jackson Jihad was pretty cool live, but their setlist was pretty meh. They didn't play Rejoice which I really wanted to hear, but w/e. I wore my favorite AE shirt 'cause I thought it'd be chill but they had a fucking hardcore band open and I got my shirt stretched out so bad.

seriously don't wear american eagle when hardcore kids are around was getting target moshed so bad
