I got my first IM album yesterday..NOTB..kinda sad considering I got visions of the beast before getting an album. and sorry for being a noob in this thread but what is "The Iron Maiden Authority"?

Stew_Blink 03-11-2005 08:35 PM

This may have been discussed before but..ever notice on NOTB Limited Edition that if you play it in windows media player the last song is titled "Total Eclipse" even though the song is actually "Hallowed Be Thy Name"..although it may just be my windows media player..seeing as it has been messed up of late.

GurS 03-11-2005 08:44 PM

In the album sleeve, you'll also find that total eclipse is the song whose lyrics are printed last. However, I can account for the lyric booklet order - Total Eclipse was not on the original vynil, but instead the B-side for the Run To The Hills booklet. Hence, so that to keep the album sleeve of the cd as close to original as possible, Total Eclipse was printed after the Hallowed Be Thy Name lyrics.

The Maiden Authority are the three people who, basically, know just about everything there is to know about Maiden, and can answer any queries you have about Maiden.

Did anyone see the Iron Maiden special on VH1 Classic last night?

It was really good.

Deth 03-12-2005 02:50 PM

I don't get VH1 classic, so no.

AB/CD 03-12-2005 03:07 PM

chorbalan 03-12-2005 03:30 PM

I heard that IM is coming to vancouver anyone know when that is going to be?

Deth 03-12-2005 03:32 PM

No North America dates have been announced, so keep your fingers crossed.

AB/CD 03-12-2005 03:49 PM

Lord Abortion 03-12-2005 03:59 PM

Dave was chucked put about year before they got signed, they were a four piece then. Steve and Dave used to harmonise with each other, which is cool. But Dave was thrown out because the singer at the time (before Dianno) said something and Steve told him to leave.

Maiden Authority 1...you...0.75 :thumb:

this would be the kiss- worshipping dennis wilcock ...yes?
who used to run a fake sword across his tongue and spit out gobfuls of fake blood causing two lasses in the front row at one show to faint

lord abortion curls a lovely free kick into the top left hand corner to make it one-all

vashts80 03-12-2005 04:57 PM

Yes, this was Dennis Wilcox. Or was is Wilcock? I can't remember. I think it was Wilcox though

AB/CD 03-12-2005 05:32 PM

ashman i think youll find u just said near enough the same thing i said i just couldnt remember the singers name but if u notice i did say before they became famous and by that i laos meant before they got signed

willis2441 03-12-2005 05:45 PM

i dont know any of iron maidens band member names, but, which singer did you guys like better?

coolidgeALL 03-12-2005 05:57 PM

Bruce, all the way

willis2441 03-12-2005 05:59 PM
i dont know any of iron maidens band member names, but, which singer did you guys like better?
that,my friends,is too much lmfao

AB/CD 03-12-2005 06:16 PM

if u dont no the members names how would u be able to judge each singer do u just say the 1 who sounds like hes got tight undies or what

vashts80 03-12-2005 07:20 PM

I like Bruce for his and Paul's stuff, but Blaze's stuff should only be sung by Blaze imo, simply because it fitted Blaze's lower voice more than it does the air-raid siren of Bruce.

Stew_Blink 03-12-2005 07:23 PM

me and like my 2 best friends (one of them being the most maiden knowing guy i know) were moshing (thats right all 3 of us) to the intire Rock In Rio DVD :p haha it was a blast..and like we'd do solos and stuff..yeah were really..uhh dumb like that? and also this has nothing to do with maiden but we hit golfballs at houses in the trailer park across from my friends house. it was fun..except when we like broke the siding on one and had to run like hell.

Stew_Blink 03-12-2005 07:31 PM

I'd say i like Bruce more than any of them..i really dislike Paul for some reason..i find him...fruity? i dunno..and i don't like Blaze that much either for some reason, although both do have good voices..Bruce's seems to just be a better singer to me, and fits maiden way better than the other 2. without him maidens line up of today wouldn't be as good as it is.

shadow_stalker 03-13-2005 07:58 AM
dave murray is also from the start

Maybe they are going to be ignorant and give England a miss.

Whatever....Maiden authority's always right :thumb:

You did say just before they were famous and it was quite a while before they got famous.

ashman 03-13-2005 09:24 AM

Bruce is more suited for the Maiden stuff. Blaze just doesn't have the range for Maiden, but for his own band BLAZE, his voice suits that music perfectly. Dianno was too....throaty for my liking.

shadow_stalker 03-13-2005 09:25 AM

Really saying before they got famous is a pretty open term, it could mean when they were babies.

Also by famous do you mean mainstreem?
