Oh okay.

Well I would take the time out to vote, but I just found out I have an essay due in tomorrow.

MalcolmYoungRock 05-08-2005 06:16 PM

Way to procrastinate.

Bartender 05-08-2005 07:09 PM

I wasn't even procrastinating though; I only just found that I have an essay to do an hour or so ago.

Jom 05-08-2005 07:23 PM

What was it on? More theroretical philosophy?

I don't have anything interesting to say about my day or anything, so for that I apologize. I did walk up to the Dairy Queen by my house with the dog and got her a small vanilla cone... friggin' dog ate it in three bites. Shows that dogs can't get brainfreezes, I suppose.

I don't have anything particularly interesting to add to the discussion that went on since I last posted, because most of the regs here know about my high school experiences, so there's no need to rehash a story.

Nope, we only have one essay to hand in for each module, thankfully. This one's for my Samurai one.

ATM 05-08-2005 07:42 PM

So who watched the new Family Guy?

Bartender 05-08-2005 07:43 PM

I downloaded it and watched it, yeah, if that counts. Hasn't been shown here yet.

ATM 05-08-2005 07:45 PM

It wasn't as good as the one from last week, but I still enjoyed it.

Bartender 05-08-2005 07:46 PM

Oh, the new new Family Guy. Haven't seen that one :(

ATM 05-08-2005 07:49 PM
Psh. East coasters. It's not on for another 2.5 hours here.

So on saturday I died. In a nutshell, I hit my nose and head on the bathroom wall and went to the ER. It was scary. :(

How did that happen? That sounds pretty scary.

The Kentucky Derby didn't miss you, to be honest. It was the largest field in recent memory.
/story
Man, raw deal. At least you're okay (I assume this because you are posting on the Internet)

ATM 05-08-2005 07:57 PM

Yikes. That sounds like a rough experience.

What made you so dehydrated?

GurS 05-08-2005 07:57 PM
Well it was extremely weird. It was like 945am I got up to go the bathroom. Well, I went and I stood up and headed for the sink and just.. passed out. I remember hearing myself fall on the ground.. and my body fell against the wall then to the ground. I woke up approx. 30 seconds later and I was choking on my mouthguard so I struggled to open my eyes and I quickly got it out my mouth and I was crying at the same time.. then there was blood EVERYWHERE because I hit my nose and it started bleeding. I finally maganed to get up and walk into the hallway where my brother saw me and I fell on the floor, and he hugged me and called my parents while I was in freak mode and crying like no other. I went to the ER and they just said I vagaled.. meaning I was dehydrated and my blood pressure was extremely low. It was really freaky.
****... sounds scary. That kinda happened to a kid in my class. He started to shake and make weird growling sounds, then fell backwards on his chair and just started to shake weirdly. Then, two seconds later, stood up and asked "why am I on the floor"? Turns out it was low blood-sugars.

GurS 05-08-2005 08:01 PM

scariest thing that ever happened to me is when i put my arm through a glass door (accidently, of course)

WHY IS NO ONE VOTING IN THE MELODIC DEATH METAL COMPETITION?

Ramsey worked really hard on coming up with a fairer voting system for this competition, and suddenly nobody can be bothered to vote because it takes up too much time or some bull. Sorry to sound like an *** about it, but everyone deserves a shot at winning, but a few seem screwed already based on the overwhelming lack of voting. I understand the poll goes on for a few days, but come on, seriously. You're on mx already. It's not hard to take fifteen minutes out and give credit to people that worked really hard on their submissions, like Ramsey, Berner, thisfilter, Joz, Dancin' Man, and a slew of others.

Please? :( :( :(

Jom 05-08-2005 08:03 PM

I would have been one of the first people to vote if I was on a uni connection.

Ramsey showed me his song sans drums and it took me twenty minutes to listen to the whole thing :(

GurS 05-08-2005 08:03 PM

No sound on this computer, Cain

ATM 05-08-2005 08:04 PM

I'm on it :)

Excused. As are you Gurs. People who claim that they don't have enough time in the day to do it are not excused. :) :)

Thanks ATM. I'm just sad because only five or six people have voted, and two or three of them are people that actually took part in the competition. Just seems lame for some of the competitors, because a lot of effort went into the making of the songs and it shows.

GurS 05-08-2005 08:08 PM

Yeh, it does suck when poeple don't vote in competitions.

For example, I'm trying to do a 100 greatest NON-CLASSICAL pianists/keyboardists/organists competition etc in P&K and not enough people are nomination :upset:

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=337508&page=1&pp=25 in case you want to nominate a few from the rock and metal side of things (pwease? :()

I've been trying to stream misha's for the past ten minutes. It keeps stopping after thirty seconds. If I can't listen to an entire song, let alone ten (or however many entries there were)... there's no way in hell that I could give an honest feedback... the only thing I could do is look at everyone else's posts and just add or subtract a point somewhere and BS some sentences, and no one deserves that because of the time and effort that went into performing and recording it.

My leg is throbbing like a mother right now (if you missed the pictures, don't bother going back), probably because I laid out in the sun after Mother's Day dinner to try to dry it out so it'd scab up, but it kills. Not as bad as Madey's freak accident, of course, but still, I can't even walk in a straight line.

Got my uni grades back today.

Endless Obsession 05-08-2005 08:13 PM

I started to vote for it but after like 15 minutes i was through with like 3 songs and there were still like 10 left and i was like, "So i really want to waste another hour and a half doing this" and i said no so i stopped.

GurS 05-08-2005 08:39 PM

who here want's to give me their MSN or AIM? I can't sleep and would appreciate the company :)

magicbus 05-08-2005 08:51 PM

Did anybody catch the Seattle/San Antonio game? It was pretty much a blowout.

Illmatic 05-08-2005 08:54 PM

Good god. My neck hurts like hell.

It woke up that way, and I assumed it was just some crick in the neck that happened because I slept funny.

But here it is, quarter of 11 and I can't even turn my head.
Did anybody catch the Seattle/San Antonio game? It was pretty much a blowout.
The Sonics are going to have to shoot the lights out for four games to win this series, and while that may work for a Cinderella team to reach the Final Four, it won't fly in the NBA.

Nah, I've been watching the Dodger game.

What was the score?

Jom 05-08-2005 08:56 PM

I was disappointed with today's games, actually. Miami blew out Washington and San Antonio stomped all over Seattle.

I sound like a broken record, probably, but I'm not looking forward to seeing highlights of the brawl and the bomb threat on ESPN for the next two weeks.

Dear Pistons,

Please sweep the Pacers.

Cordially,

Antihero

magicbus 05-08-2005 08:59 PM

It was 89-103 in San Antonio's favor I belive. Basically they were always up by 20 the entire 2nd half.

Expect the Heat to crush the Wizards. The Wizards would have lost in the first round in five games if the Bulls had Curry and Deng. The Wizards' biggest weakness is interior defense, and the Bulls' big guys were Othella Harrington, Tyson Chandler (a seven-foot beanpole), The Artist Formerly Known As Antonio Davis, and a white guy named "Reiner" (who they probably picked up at a frat party).

Also, Shaq will go into "Postseason Shaq" mode at any time and crush all comers.

And AH, try being a Red Sox fan. Tim McCarver and Joe Buck were doing everything short of starting a "1918!" chant in the booth.

IT WAS MY IDEA TO CHANGE THE VOTING! I STOLE IT FROM LYRICAL CHALLENGES AND SLIGHTLY MODIFIED IT! RECOGNIZE MEEEEEEE!!!!!

/I am still voting/writing my Great Gatsby paper

In other news, I just went to a concert with my mom. Anyone ever heard of Samite (can't do the accent. It's an aigu over the e and I only know the french pronunciation of that accent)? He's an African musician (Ugandan) who does all these huge benefits for orphaned and otherwise unfortunate African kids in east Africa. It was a lot of fun to go on a date with my mom. The man has a beautiful voice.
