Yeah, I cried when I found out.

Oh, I know. I just thought of Homer finding money instead of a peanut and gets disappointed before his brain tells him that the money can get him more peanuts.

"Explain how!"
"Money can be exchanged for goods and services'"
"woohoo!"

So, I was hoping you'd give me an entertaining explanation, too. :upset:

margin0walker 08-01-2007 03:34 PM

tbh i think arizona has the coolest govenor

br3ad_man 08-01-2007 06:05 PM

I don't really know anything about politics, but it all seems like bullshit to me. Like everything would all be basically the same no matter who's in charge.

I can't really remember what English with a South African accent sounds like, but Afrikaans is such a crazy language. It's like Dutch/Flemish without grammar. I always find it strange that I can pretty much understand (written, anyway) a language of a country so far away.
My parents always speak Afrikaans to each other when they don't want my sister and I to understand. They say weird stuff like "de klanke" and other such weirdo things :/ I'm sure you could understand them.

margin0walker 08-01-2007 07:59 PM

all that i know about south africa i learned from Cry, The Beloved Country

br3ad_man 08-01-2007 08:35 PM

People who live in Sydney, there's a Cure myspace secret show on August 10. It's free. Probably in a pretty small venue. Anyone who lives in Sydney and doesn't go to that sucks at life.

No. Our accent rules the road.

Sweet lord, I would go to that if I could :( unfortunately I already have plans and won't be able to attend. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll tell my friend who didn't have the money to go to their show.

br3ad_man 08-02-2007 08:32 PM

Too bad :(

Guys, Tilly and the Wall totally blew last night. They were missing the tap dancer who was apparently sick, but they just seemed like jerks as well. Easily the most potty-mouthed band I've ever seen.

sgrevs 08-02-2007 08:35 PM

I wouldn't want to see them for any reason other than the tap dancer. That's a shame.

dei 08-03-2007 12:16 AM

I used to like Tilly and the Wall.

Oh my god those bastards. I went to the Decemberists secret show in austin (you can totally see me in one of the pictures there) and it was really badass. Highlight: seeing Colin stand next to some drunk lady during the acoustc portion of the evening.

The cure would be way cooler than decemberists though. By a factor of a billion.

dei 08-03-2007 12:22 AM

I can't like the Cure.

Jacaranda 08-03-2007 12:26 AM
Montana's on fire today
I had to drive to Butte on Wednesday and all of Clinton/Rock Creek was on fire basically. And god only knows that the Testy Festy won't make things better for the fires.

It was pretty bad they had one house that had people just pouring water every where around it to save it from burning, not to mention the smoke was terrible.
:/
I can't like the Cure.
Any particular reason?

perriwinkle 08-03-2007 11:35 AM

yeah really. the cure's a great band, robert smith has an amazing voice, and that's that

Hedgedive 08-03-2007 01:59 PM

perriwinkle do you know where I could get the lyrics to this Cinemechanica album?

I want to sing along but I only know half the unintelligible yelling :/

perriwinkle 08-03-2007 02:12 PM
"I really wish we had printed out the lyrics," says Williamson of Cinemechanica's debut album, The Martial Arts, as he downs a can of Sparks at Room 13 in Athens. Even the name "Cinemechanica," which is taken from an Italian company that makes film equipment, is obscure and hard to pronounce.

"The topics of the songs are all based on a general paranoia brought about by the public not understanding what's really going on in regards to anything, like governmental and the bullshit from the media," continues Williamson, who adds that Pruett writes the lyrics, and he writes the music for them. "No one freakin' knows what the hell is going on. It's frustrating. Like, who do we trust? That's the overall theme of the lyrics." You wouldn't know this from the titles of the songs, which bear clever names like "Antsinjapants," "Bruckheimer" and "I'm Tired of Paul McCartney."

"[Bruckheimer] is one of our more focused ideas," says Williamson. "It's about a type of individual that has so many productive ideas, and talks about these ideas, and talks about what they're going to do, and it just doesn't get done. And it's like, don't pretend like you're going to do it, dude. If you're not going to do it, then just ****ing let it go, just let us know you're not going to do it, let us know it's not going to get done, and we'll ****ing move on and find someone else who's going to do it."

It sounds pretty serious. "I feel like this song is the most frustrated and personal," says Williamson. "We don't write any songs about girls or anything, that's for sure. But it's hard for us being in a rock band and trying to get things done. A lot of people that we hang out with and try to get to help us out are chilled-out musicians, you know what I mean? They take it easy. I'm like that to a degree, but I'm very business-oriented, and want to make sure everything gets done."
:/

when i listen to them in my car i always yell the part in brain tarp thats like

III DONT GET THIS BANTER

AAAND ITS FREAKIN ME OUT

WHEENN I GET HYSTERICAL

THAT'S WHEN REASON BREAKS DOWN

margin0walker 08-03-2007 07:22 PM

margin0walker 08-03-2007 08:13 PM

go hang out at a record store talking loudly about your record collection

sgrevs 08-03-2007 08:14 PM

Get pretty drunk and make sure she's drunk too. It's so much easier that way.
