The Sixpounder sols IS hard so don't expect to be able to play it so soon. Those string skipped arpeggios are what get me in that.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 06:24 PM

Enough with all this talk!

/listens to Sixpounder

Meh. It sounds pretty hard.

But seriously, Children Of Decadence is probably the easiest Bodom solo there is.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 12-28-2005 06:47 PM

eh who knows man *bangs head*

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 06:49 PM

Children Of Decandence is pretty tough, I guess. I hadn't heard the real thing in awhile and it is pretty damn fast. The scales and stuff and easy, but playing it that fast without skipping any notes or anything is pretty damn hard.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 12-28-2005 06:53 PM

maybe once i get my own guitar and start learning how to play ill know what u people are talking about and be able to join in instead of posting stupid comments such as my last one and prolly this one. wish me luck

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 06:55 PM

Good luck then. I've only been playing a little under three years, so I don't think I'll be playing tons of Bodom stuff yet.
haha, you weakling. I once travelled ten hours by train to see Pain, and this summer I was on a thirteen hour busstrip to the Gates Of Metal festival, which Bodom attended. Both completely mindblowing.
You were at Gates of Metal? Cool, me too. Front row at CoB baby:cool:.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 07:10 PM

Where is Gates Of Metal at?

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 07:20 PM

Children of Decadence eh, I think the only bit in that solo that I would need to practise is the bit where it's descending 3 notes per string using the pentatonic scale.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 07:26 PM

That is the easiest part!

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 07:32 PM

Nah.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 07:35 PM

Yeah it is. What is so hard about it?

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 07:37 PM

It's wide stretches, quick position shifts, string alternate inside picking 16th notes at 145bpm.

But then again, I take my accuraccy extremely serious.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 07:39 PM

Oh crap, I'm probably thinking of the wrong part. What part is it? How far into the song?

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 07:40 PM

Well, you got the delay part, then the 1 bar sweep, then the next bar is the one I'm talking about.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 07:41 PM

Oh yes, that part. That is probably the hardest part, the sweep is surprisingly easy though.

/sucks at sweeps

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 07:43 PM

Yeah I find sweeping real easy since I started learning it the proper way, starting slow, unlike some people over in the guitar forum. SShhh, don't tell em that, I'm sure they realise that anyway. :P

I think the Bodom Beach Terror solo section is pretty difficult.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 07:43 PM

How did you learn how?

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 07:45 PM

Uh?

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 07:48 PM

Oh alright, thanks.

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 07:49 PM

I'm confused...

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 07:59 PM

You said "Uh..."

Which really helped me alot, so I was thanking you.

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 08:06 PM

Sarcasm eh...

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 08:07 PM

Indeed. Lake Bodom is awesome live.

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 08:10 PM

You seen them then?

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 08:15 PM

Tokyo Warhearts.

<_<
>_>

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 08:33 PM

Oh right, I've tryed downloading a few live tracks. I've got loads of videos but I'm trying to get some rarer (sp?) ones.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 08:41 PM

More rare*

It is quite good, Laiho improvises alot in Lake Bodom.

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 08:48 PM

More rare, thanks.

Improvises? Are you sure he's not just buggering it up. :p

Haha must be the first time I've said anything negative about Mr. Laiho, but I know how sloppy he was back then but now I've heard he's kicking maximum ass, and I'll get to experience this from front row. :D

Shadows 12-28-2005 08:50 PM

Actually, the word is rarer.

I'm pretty sure he improvises.

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 09:09 PM

Yeah I do believe he does, I've seen him on some videos and that Passage to the Reaper thing, surely some of that jam thing is improv.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 09:20 PM

Well if it is a jam then he is obviously improvising

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 09:26 PM

There are licks and stuff that he's practised and rehearsed, it doesn't sound compeltely improvised, it's like he's listening for the timings as to when to play each lick.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 09:36 PM

Probably. I haven't seen the video, so I wouldn't know.

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 09:43 PM

It's on Google video methinks.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 10:08 PM

Well methinks you should give me the link for it, methinks.

MRDuCran 12-28-2005 10:21 PM

Only 'cause I'm kind:

http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=Children+of+Bodom

I would of clicked directly on it but my pc dies after using that thing, since I have like 4mb left on my C: drive.

King_Of_Terrors 12-28-2005 11:21 PM

Thanks, that whole instructional video was fecking awesome!
