Does anyone else think that Children Of Bodom and Wintersun arent Power Metal?

CoB has nothing to do with power metal - its a mix of power metal AND melodic death.

Its the same with Wintersun, though they have more power elements than melodic death elements.


I call them extreme power metal - but they are not pure power metal!

I think Wintersun has more of a Melodic Black Metal sound than Melo-Death.

There is nothing black metal about Wintersun.

His screaming vocals are pretty Black Metal to me.

Just bought Triumph Or Agony by Rhapsody today and boy does it ever sound splendid on CD. MP3s are the ghey.

the past two Firewind albums have been awesome :(

I just think they're really boring. Their vocalists always annoyed me too.

Apollo is one of my favorite power metal vocalists actually.

Or you could just say that Wintersun mix Power Metal, which is melodic by nature, with some death and folk elements. I hear no real black metal parts to their songs. I'd still put them in Power Metal without hesitation if I was making a list.
