Geffen
Ive been meaning to check that out for a while. What's it like?
It's a fantastic electronic duo. They have a pretty unique sound so I'm having a difficult time describing it adequately. Instead you can hear 3 tracks off their website: http://alog.net/discography.html

Listened to Swell Maps for the first time today. Intriguing.

Also:

Gang Starr
Heiroglyphics
Television Personalities
Yo La Tengo
Calvin Johnson

Johnson's new one has really grown on me. There's one bad song, maybe two or three meh ones and the rest is really pretty strong.

Luxor 10-21-2005 10:58 PM

Oooooh, I sure like those Elliott Smith "From A Basement.." demos. The man was a musical genius.

Death Cab - You Can Play These Songs with Chords.

This album is very surprisingly good for being early low-fi Death Cab. AAAAAAAAAAnd the This Charming Man cover is nice.

It's their best album. No contest.

el doctor 10-22-2005 11:08 AM

The original demo or the full compilation album? I find both to be underwhelming.

Bukowski 10-22-2005 11:11 AM

Propagandhi - Potemkin City Limits
Minutemen - 3-Way Tie For Last
Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica

It's taken me long enough, but i think i finally understand why Trout Mask Replica is so highly rated.

pixiesfanyo 10-22-2005 11:17 AM

Porcupine Tree - In Absenthia
Reminds me of a better Muse. for those who don't know it.

Augie March - Strange Bird
Great indie pop. Lyrically a bit like the Decemberists. Musically very dreamy.
