I've seen Sylosis live.

I play on Xbox 360.

I don't really like opeth.

The_Mop 08-16-2010 05:48 AM

Not massively into thrash but I'll give it a go. Have seen a lot of people wearing their shirts e.t.c, must be getting fairly big...

High points of Bloodstock really must be the Devin Townsend Project and Gojira, they were so goddamn awesome. Even with the massive sound issues plaguing nearly everyone...

Blackwater Park is one of their best tbh. I'm not familiar with earlier albums but apparently that album was pretty much the turning point for their style from then on. Also has steve wilson doing vocals every now and again o.O

But yeah, awesome album. Would definitely reccomend.

benfan 08-16-2010 05:48 AM

What did you reckon?
Their singer has left so its the lead guitarist who has taken over vocal duties. Awesome guitarist.

You go online much?

Mop checkout their debut Conclusion of an Age, one of the best metal albums of 08 imo

Squirrel 08-16-2010 05:50 AM

I really enjoyed them, was only a quid to see them too haha. Aren't they on In At the Deep End records?

I'm on the free month trial thing atm, i dont play games online tbh.

benfan 08-16-2010 05:53 AM

I think so, im not too sure though.

Ahh right. The teaser for the new Bioshock was released the other day so im tearing my scalp off in anticipation! The new COD and MoH are released soon too.

The_Mop 08-16-2010 05:55 AM

This page of the 'Lod - brought to you by Benfan, Squig and Mop Co.

Still havn't played MW2. I know a cheeky bugger who bought 5 copies at sainsbury's with staff discount, then sold them to CeX for a fiver profit XD

Squirrel 08-16-2010 05:56 AM

I really dislike FPS games on consoles so they dont really appeal tbh. The new bioshock trailer looks aweseom, really awesome, but so did the other trailers and those games didnt wow me too much :(

I think they are, i only know that really cause i know Send More Paramedics. Well, my friend knows them and i've met them a few times.

benfan 08-16-2010 05:57 AM

MW2 is fun, but there are alot of things that were rushed about it. Battlefield BC2 is a better MP game. The campaign for MW2 is incredible though, so many jaw dropping set peices and moments.

Never listened to them Squig what are they like?

Squirrel 08-16-2010 06:00 AM

They fused metal, hardcore and punk, along with a massive zombie theme. They started out as a local band here then just got better and better, ended up churning out 3 albums. Toured with the Offspring, played Leeds fest etc.

Some of their material can be a bit weak but then some is just immense.

benfan 08-16-2010 06:03 AM

Il have to check them out. I still need to get Cynics new release, but i dont know if 5 're-imagined' songs are worth £13

Squirrel 08-16-2010 06:41 AM

Just downlaod it mate.

benfan 08-16-2010 06:45 AM

Whats it like?

Sad But True 08-16-2010 07:00 AM

Weren't some of the guys from Send More Paramedics in And None Of Them Knew They Were Robots?

Squirrel 08-16-2010 07:08 AM

Yus they were, though I never heard any of their music or knew them when they were doing that.

Squirrel 08-16-2010 07:08 AM
Whats it like?
Haven't heard it tbh mate, at least I don't think I have. Is it just the remastered songs?

Cause i've heard a remastered version of 'How Could I?'

benfan 08-16-2010 07:11 AM

My bad, I thought you said you had downloaded it. I probably will do eventually, im having a pain in arse trying to get Cubase to do what i want it to at the minute.
Usually if i download something and like it i buy it anyway, that way i know im not gonna have Lars Ulrich kicking my door down.

AG 08-16-2010 08:30 AM

Crap the Lod is moving fast!

Squiggs; Yep, I quit my job the other day. Currently networking at church, to get me a new one.

The opening scene of Dead Space scared the bejeepers out of me.

Currently watching The Dark Knight, watched Batman Begins before, I'll probs watch the animated one that came in the Batman Begins box set too.

Gonna play some Oot inabit, I'm up to the ultra tricky water temple.

In terms of the photo, the guy in the back was the leader/guide. Pretty funny - 8th grade history teacher/extreme sports enthusiast.

He looks like a goose, though.

Just done a load of weeding, and harvested my first two cherry tomatoes! Unfortunately I started planting the veggies late this year, so I'm gonna have mainly green tomatoes - which will go into a green tomato chutney, along with some of my father-in-laws chillies.

Networking at church as in .. church?

How come you left? i mean, why didn't you get a new job before leaving this one?

AG 08-16-2010 09:06 AM

I left because I didn't want to do that job for a second longer.

And aye, church. Became a Christian a few weeks ago.

Also, can someone American please explain this whole juggalo thing?

benfan 08-16-2010 09:24 AM

Blue_Moon 08-16-2010 09:54 AM

got woken up after 3 hrs sleepby a woman on the phone asking me questions and a lil interview

it was the most pointless conversation i ever tried to have

i was up till 6am boozin then shared a bed with a friend... not the most idea time to try and get a job, i could barely string a sentance together

AG 08-16-2010 09:58 AM

I don't know what to say when people ask me that, because when I say that I went to Church and experienced Jesus, they don't believe me.

Which I understand, because well, I didn't believe any of it untill I went to Church with an open heart.

It's a wierd situation because alot of the things I believe about life contradict what alot of Christians say, and it's hard to fit Jesus into them. But hey, I have a Church to go to and chat to everyone about that now.

Squirrel 08-16-2010 10:04 AM

Gotta hand it to you AG, you're one seriously weird guy.

AG 08-16-2010 10:07 AM

But living a pretty happy life, so I must be doing something right.

I imagine you're an Athiest squiggs? What are your thoughts on life and death?

I'd say 90:10 atheist:agnostic. I have moments of wondering, though they're brief and not really significant. I do find some religious tripe genuinely insulting, if i'm honest.

Like, I knew this Yank at school, massive god-squad kind of family, and he had a status a couple of weeks back "What a wonderful go we all serve, even if you don't believe in him" and I genuinely found it offensive for someone to force their ideas on me like that, especially TELLING me that i SERVE someone. Serve someone I don't even believe exists.
