yeah, thats just opinion. basically, what youre saying is that all death metal you dont personally like, is deathcore

if you do not see how daft that is, you can just keep to your corner because then you won't (want to) understand anything anyone says on the subject
Yeah that's basically it.
They are there because they have to be and most of the time come off as totally forced.
Not at all; I'm not sure what kinda deathcore you've been listening to... sounds like emmure on repeat. anything can sound forced if you don't like the way it sounds. I could say that Death's technicality on some of their records sounds forced if I don't like the sound of it.
not true at all, there's lots of poopty death metal I wouldn't call anything close to deathcore

One of the main reasons I find deathcore so intolerable is the fact that it pretty much depends on breakdowns to carry the songs instead of just using them to add a little flavor every now and then. That and like I said before most of it feels so mechanical and doesn't express anything.
the poor bands rely on breakdowns and over-use them but the good bands generally just a newer different style of DM.

Honestly most bands who get described as deathcore hardly have that much hardcore influence on their music. It's generally metalcore influence and well as most of us here are massive metalcore fans we can testify that a lot of metalcore (especially these days) has very little hardcore influence to begin with also.

masscows 10-15-2008 04:04 PM

ok I didn't say that they did have hardcore influence. Alot of my favorite death metal bands have a much greater hardcore influence in their music than most deathcore bands but that doesn't make them deathcore because that's not what the label has been taken to mean.

Dimmu Burger 10-15-2008 04:30 PM

While not usually considered deathcore, this last Dead To Fall album is good. It has more death metal influence than their old stuff and is well produced.

botb 10-15-2008 04:35 PM

^^agreed

Dimmu Burger 10-15-2008 04:36 PM

It's the first album of theirs that I really like and now they broke up. Figures!
is that not a punk influence?
I said that they are punk influences. Lots of death metal uses them.

Early death metal is basically thrash/speed metal+hardcore+(sometimes)grindcore

Dimmu Burger 10-15-2008 08:36 PM

A Different Breed Of Killer effin owns.

lol you lazy f*ck!

adb 10-15-2008 08:41 PM

actually I d/l'ed the leak a long time ago, listened to and deleted it. It's an ok album, but the low "growls" really hinder the sound of the band.

Dimmu Burger 10-15-2008 08:43 PM

I hadn't noticed. I rarely download anything that's bad, so I don't have to delete much.

hismajestythepope 10-15-2008 08:43 PM
