yeah, those are the kind of people who want to be different all of the time. Some people think it is almost a fashion to like them, nowadays. You got 15yr. old girls with $350 manicures with a Metallica shirt on, saying that they kick a.ss, when they no nothing at all about them or there music. They are the ones "killing" METALLICA, they are the ones making us look likes dic.ks who will listen to anything that has a beat, then saying that it is cool.(i'm going to sound like a GOTH right now) **** all of those conformist!
being non conformist is actually being conformist :thumb: *smacks goth* :smash: but on topic, i need some money so I can check out more of AJFA |
i bet, no, i KNOW that people were excited when kill 'em all first came out. one of many things that made this ablum unique was that there were no later characteristic soft songs on kill 'em all, just 100% rocking out. so what im wondering (since i wasnt alive to see it) is what people were thinking when they heard the soft, melodic intro to "fight fire with fire". anybody who was alive back then feel free to answer.

My favorite is Kill Em All, or Master Of Puppets.
Kill Em All: Metallicas first album. Dave Mustaine was on it. In MY opinion one of the best metal guitar players ever. With songs like "Seek & Destroy", "(Anesthiesa)-Pulling Teeth" & "The Four Hoursemen", you cant go wrong. Also great solos in every song on the album. Master Of Puppets: Probably the album that changed most peoples lives including mine. This is Cliff Burtons last album. The song "Orion" completely blows me away. One of the best instrumentals ive heard in my life. Heavy riffs, pounding bass line, great transitions & to top it all off a bass solo! One of my favorite songs "Battery" is also on this album. I know i didnt need to do that im just bored :thumb: |

aright im a young kid but ill answer you any way. Metal back then had ballads usually ie; Poison, Cinderella (whom both i hate). So it didnt really seem new to me when i heard it. I was just like alright what ever, it sounds cool any way. But yeah the song is great all & all |

I wasn't trying to get all into the word. it is true what you are saying, but then it isn't. Being non-conformist means you don't like to follow what other people do or say. But some people aren't trying to be... aw fuc.k it. METALLICA ROCKS \m/ |
Lars is from Denmark.

Altho most of the solos were written by Mustaine I believe. |

I know that napster is out of the question ! Did anyone watch the South Park episode where Kyle, Stan, and Kenny downloaded all of those songs off the net for free? I know that's not what the whole episode was about but it was funny as shi.t! |

i think one thing that makes metallica stand out is james' voice. it is as if his voice hits all 3 notes of the current powerchord in one. it is like his voice is one big chord. i've never heard anything like it before or since. another thing about metallica is kirk's solos. his solos imo are so unique that if he was to die tomorrow, you would never have the possibility of hearing that solo PERFECT except on a recording. you might hear a mediocre rendition of that solo, but creeping death, blackened, master of puppets, that stuff is hard to imitate, even if you're zakk wylde or someone. hammett's style is so unique, it can't be imitated imo. it can be, but you'd know if it was an imitation or the real thing.
