My last three essays have all included quotes from either Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash or Woody Guthrie
Yaay, Woodie Guthrie. Now THERE'S a hero of the people if I ever saw one. He was cooler than Guevara and Lawrence of Arabia put together. They should make a Revolutionary Death Match (like Celebrity DM) with Cesar Chavez battling it out against Woody Guthrie. Heh. |
That would be pretty sweet
|
Does anyone else use archive.org? It's got a great live music archive including shows by Bill Bragg, Ghost Mice, Mischief Brew, Mike Watt, The Minutemen, The Legendary Shack Shakers, Rosa, Tenacious D, The Dauntless Elite, Spoonboy, Johnny Hobo & The Freight Trains, Hank Williams III, The Decembrists, The Toasters, Two Gallants, One Reason, Camper Van Beethoven, Defiance, Ohio, The Butthole Surfers and many more.
Yaay, Woodie Guthrie. This Land is Your Land = the REAL American National anthem. It was an essay about the great depression so I used quite a few quotes from him from both his songs and his autobiography Bound for Glory which I've just bought. It's brilliant. If you haven't read it I definitely recommend it. |
Captain Everything rule so hard.

Agreed
It's great how more people are starting to get to know them, when i first joined there were about two of us that knew them. |
Never heard of it...
I'm reading NoFx's q&a section on their website...its great. |
Captain Everything are great. Are you going to see them when they support AWS and Lagwagon in the new year?
|
Yaay, I likes my new avatar.
|
AWS, Latterman and Captain Everything would be a great show.
|

Yeah definately. You going? |
Probably.
The only thing I have eaten or drunk today is a pint of cider. |
Alot of the English people on these forums seem to drink alot.
|
My Dad drinks a beer called Champion...lol
|
I got f'ucking wasted yesterday, but my hangover never kicked in today so that turned out alright!
Drinking is great fun. Every concert i go to these days i get f'ucking wasted, just pull all dayers. It's a great way to spend your time. |
I really really wanna go Conflict tonite, yet i seem to be the only person i know who aint f'uckin skint.
|
And they all swear alot too.
|
Haha pretty much.
|
Don't worry though, I'm quite fond of English folk.

Not only on these forums. English people everywhere. Well, British. Quick mini-poll for the Brits: Which cider is better? A) Magner's B) Strongbow C) Blackthorn D) White Lightning (bleugh) Magner's. |
I'll go with option B, Kent.
|
Wite lightning is my honest favourite out of those. then strongbow, then magners then blackthorn. scrump joes is my favourite cider.

But Weston's Organic, Vintage or Old Rosie are better than all of them. |

Nooo! White Lightning was a joke! I didn't mean for it to be a real option. It's not even real cider. It's to cider what Special Brew is to beer. It's a hobo drink. And yes, sketchy joe is correct, it causes severe brain damage. Ewww, it's so nasty. |
If you haven't tried Old Rosie cider, you haven't lived.
|

I will remember that, thank you. |

haha i love it though, white cider is the best. |
White Lightning/Frosty Jacks/etc are rat's piss.
But they do get you exceedingly drunk. |
My friend found a bottle in his basement that's 195 proof. I have no idea what that means but rubbing alcohol is 200 proof. His parents were mixing stuff one night, tried it, and hid it.
