Yeah they do have some crap bands like Opeth and some of those emo/Hot Topic related bands.
What do you have against Opeth? Im not saying you have to like them, Im just curious. |

I actually just dislike the obnoxious fanboyism that goes on at my school. I sat down and listened to their music and thought it was pretty meh. Not great but not bad. But music is all subjective so w/e |

Its better than the Fall out Boy and AC/DC fanboyism at my school. |
Its better than the Fall out Boy and AC/DC fanboyism at my school.
hah, that's the same with my school.

I'd rather deal with that than, the kids at my school who think that Job For A Cowboy is grindcore and Children of Bodom is black metal. So yeah, Killing Is My Business...and Business is Good!, the verse is one of the coolest riffs I can think of right now. Using infra red, targets on you, aimed at your head  |
I showed one of my good friends who dosn't listen to a whole lot music megadeth. He ttally loves it. I was so excited for 'em :)
|
Yeah it's cool when you start to get your friends into your music. And if it's Megadeth that's a plus.
|
My band is doing a cover of Devil's Island. It's going pretty good. I'm taking Mustaine's solos on keyboard (actually they're kinda gay so I'm just gonna make up my own) and my lead guitarist is taking Poland's.
|
Dave won't put **** bands on Gigantour because of Roadrunner, he's not an idiot.
|

Haha I'd like to hear it with keyboards. |
haha .. like the norther keyboard solo of tornado of souls eh.
|
I still haven't found that.
|
i can send it to you if you want.
|
That'd be cool if you can
jevgenji_hershplinikov@hotmail.co.uk Thanks. |
k sent
|
Many thanks.

I hope to be covering Mechanix soon.
I love the lyrics too much. It's almost as good as Rattlehead...and that's saying something. /has spent last few days with KIMB on all the time. |
I really don't like the KIMB lyrics. They're just a bit immature in places.
|

My old band used to cover Holy Wars but the breakdown with Friedman's acoustic bit always sounded like crap so we never performed it in a club or anything. Although we did Symphony of Destruction with no problem :)
|
That's because Symphony is easy.
|
Symphony has a kick *** solo though.
|
That's because Symphony is easy.
Exactly! And the funny thing about it, the crowd went crazy over it (this was 10 years ago mind you...) |
Man i really should learn SOD.
|
Symphony is a real fun song to play. I think I have the whole thing down minus the solo. I have about a quarter though.
On a side note, Megadeth is now my second favorite band after Dream Theater. |
Basically the way it is for me :thumb:
|
Heh, same as me, although the line between Megadeth and Dream Theater is very thin.
|
Megadeth would be in my Top 5 somewhere. I'm not sure though.
|

I always thought you didn't like DT... |
I prefer Megadeth, i love DT though they are just incredible.
|
DT own Megadeth at everything but heaviness (and riffs before someone says anything :p )
But it's all down to preference :) |
I was just thinking about how it seems like how all the huge Megadeth fans are also huge DT fans just like myself. I guess it's true.
|
DT & Megadeth on Gigantour would've been perfect if it had come to England :(
|
Yup it was pretty much perfect. Especially with Symphony X too.:)
|
I always thought you didn't like DT...
Pfft, I love DT, I love Awake, mmm riffs :) |
Yeah it has some great ones on it, like Lie :dribbles:
|
Indeed, if you look through the DT thread, talking about favourite pieces of work by DT Members or something similar.
Everything about Lie, is my favourite work by a member of DT (Obviously Petrucci, more so because of the solo, but the whole song kicks major ***). Petrucci + Mustaine would be the **** imo, I just wish they would release their cover of Cemetary Gates... |
I'd kill to hear that.
|
DT own Megadeth at everything but heaviness (and riffs before someone says anything :p )
no waay. although i love some DT, i dont like the guitar tone. and also, having listened to DT alot, i still cant quickly recall any particular riff. they arent nearly as catchy as megadeth riffs, IMO. IMO, Megadeth are a far, far better band. lyrically, they are better too. the Glass Prison lyrics seem annoyingly easy to write, to me. and as a prog band, i dont think DT have nearly as much character and feeling as Megadeth.
Petrucci + Mustaine would be the **** imo, I just wish they would release their cover of Cemetary Gates...
wow, that would be incredible. that would be extremely incredible. *slobbers* |
Don't you remember?
When Gigantour was in, wherever Dimebag's from (Sorry, I don't think too much of him, I don't know where he's from), Dream Theater covered Cemetary Gates, and Mustaine played the solo... Someone said it would be released on DVD, but I'm still waiting. |
