RP100. Digitech. Kinda crappy but it works. I use it sometimes as a compressor/sustainer.
I have the same one. My dad bought it for me when I started playing, and I used to think it was amazing  Now I think it's time for something a little better, now that my playing has advanced since then. I'm looking at some Boss pedals. |
^my highschool is becoming a very lot of fun. I don't mind class or the people in general. Of course, my best friends don't go to my school so I kind of float around various social groups.
I took high school seriously enough to do pretty well, but not nearly serious enough for it to ruin my life. I was actually one of the semi-popular kids, I think, so that might have been it. A lot of kids complain about the people in their high school, but my graduating class was great. Also, the teachers were cool too. ATM: it's still too cold and rainy for grilling here. :( |

Yeah, there it is. I just think I had a great graduating class, because just about everyone was cool to some extent.
|
Yeah, there it is. I just think I had a great graduating class, because just about everyone was cool to some extent.
It also didn't help that the teachers sucked, and most of them were strict and dull. |
Also, the teachers were cool too.
Most of the teachers in my school took school as seriously as most of the students, which is a definite plus. |
My graduating class was 800 or so people, so I didn't know 75% of them. I was popular enough in high school, I got invited to parties and such :)
I have a Digitech GNX3, and I like that :-/ |
What's up with all of the shit threads tonight? No wonder people dislike coming into rock and metal.
|
I think I should get a pedal
what's a good but inexpensive one? |
The Boss DS-1 is the one that I am thinking about getting. It's got good, solid distortion.
Ray, you might also like a blues pedal, since I'm guessing you won't be playing metal :) |
Oh I'm definitely getting a blues pedal. I'm also thinking of getting Seymour Duncan pickups, becase I heard they're best for jazz and blues. yay/nay?

I don't know anything about pickups, unfortunately.
Ultimately, I want to achieve the tone Iommi had on Black Sabbath's Paranoid album. |
I also need to get a decent slide and a decent harmonica holder.
|

Anyone download the CoB video that was just posted?
It's really good. |
I always thought ROFL was Roar Out Fucking Loud.
Anyhoo, Cain is an excellent guitarist. Probably not the best in R&M but very good and his song writing is quite impressive. I just realized I do have an amp modeler. My old multi FX pedal has one built in. I'll try using that for next challenge. I wish people hated my song less.
Yeah, I'm definitely not the best. Thisfilter has a huge advantage on me as a rhythm player: he rips out a zillion polyrhythmic things on his songs and I don't even know the first thing about making polyrhythmics in the first place. He's also a great orchestrator and lead player. I like composing songs more than soloing anyway, although the latter sure is fun. :) Dancin' Man, I hope you don't hate me for the criticism, hopefully my point was taken with no animosity. |

I know eh? It's been bad tonight. Worse ive seen it in awhile. :upset: |
The Boss DS-1 is a very solid pedal, I've had it for years.
|

I'm not educated on Seymour Duncans, but I always heard Lace Sensor's were great blues pickups, and a lot of the Fender pickups (Tex-mex, Noiseless, etc.) As for blues pedals, I was always sold on the BOSS BD-2, until I found the Ibanez TS-808. Now I'm definently going with the Ibanez. Check out both of them though :thumb: |
If Tex-Mex is like SRV's sound, I'll pass. I didn't like SRV's tone all that much.
|
Yea they are like SRV's. Noiseless are like Claptons, and Jeff Beck has Ceramic Noiseless. Buddy Guy is the one who uses the Lace Sensors, you might want to listen to his guitar on the website.
|
SRV's sound was also partly due to the fact his strat was practically hollow.

Dancin' Man, I hope you don't hate me for the criticism, hopefully my point was taken with no animosity.
I haven't seen it and would never take criticism of this nature in a bad way. I know it's all to help and if someone does give mean spirited criticism, then they had better have something to back it up with. When you win, make the next comp Grind covers of pop songs. Blink 182 - What's My Age Again. |
OMG, Rob stopped in to visit.
And I didn't know that, actually. I'm still probably not going to get Tex-Mex pickups, though. |

Clapton's tone isn't raunchy enough to me, but Beck and Guy (as stated) wrangle some amazing blues tones out of their pickups. |
I got my 1000 post today, and now im at 973.... :upset:

Thus alot of the body was routed out which was what gave it the clear, bell-like tone. |
Who'd everybody vote for in the guitarist poll?
/Hendrix |

haha, I'm not going to win, nostaligias or thisfilter is. But on the chance that I do, I shall simply make it a cover contest, and judge on creativity. You will be free to make your Grindcore cover...(not every knows what it is, like me :(), but other types of covers would be cool too. But I won't win, like I said. |
