500w goes a long way, but if youre gertting blue screens its probably not the psu since if you dont have enough power the system just doesnt turn on, it doesnt give you a blue screen

ya but I was told the opposite by a bunch of people who reckon one of the most common causes of blue screens is a faulty PSU

and I think it possibly checks out because the error codes I am getting are to do with hardware cause I have changed OS multiple times and it still bluescreens. the only way to test which component is playing up is to manually unplug each device connected to my comp one by one, and I am not willing to do that

i have 650w psu with 2 Radeon 6850s and i dont have any problems.

this new one I ordered is 900w. probably a major overkill, but it wasn't that expensive and had good reviews

a couple of 1 tb harddrives, mid-range graphics card, blu ray player, 3 RAM sticks. not an awful lot but I did calculate how powerful you need your PSU to be to run it on some website ages back and it was somewhere in the 500 w range. my PSU is old now and they lose ability over time, my computer is running 24/7 I never turn it off

lol because i didnt do a reinstall, i did the upgrade and it fucked everything up. i did a clean install and it worked beautifully hahaha

in in pre-med/pre-pharm atm. gonna get my doctorate in pharmacy and work to pay off bills while i go to med school to become an MD

i might wait a few years before going back to school but imma do it eventually
