Which is sort of what I was saying. Slightly. However, it does matter who and what caused them to break up, as it's a topic of interest. Kind of like JFK. It doesn't matter who killed him, he would've been dead soon anyway, right?
I guess....

El_Goodo 07-28-2006 02:43 AM

I've found some good youtube videos that I would like to share haha. First theres the acoustic version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps for people who don't own the anthology...in which cause I demand you leave this thread go out and buy it and return.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NaYhroYSt8&search=George%20Harrison%20guitar

And much more interesting...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NaYhroYSt8

The original mixes of Strawberry Fields forever...the two versions that were mixed to create the one masterpiece.

El_Goodo 07-28-2006 02:47 AM
It doesn't matter what/who caused them to disband because they would've broken up very soon after they actually did anyways. I mean say they didn't break up when they did could you really see the Beatles surving into the 70's etc?
I'm sure they'd still be battling the Rolling Stones for intergalactic rule.
The original mixes of Strawberry Fields forever...the two versions that were mixed to create the one masterpiece.
That may very well have been the greatest thing I've seen today, only rivaled by the rooftop concert.
I'm sure they'd still be battling the Rolling Stones for intergalactic rule.
Phff. The Beatles >>>>>>>> The Stones.

If all the Beatles were alive they'd destroy the Stones musically.

Fixed :) ...I've gone made with fatigue.

Not quiet. You're getting closer though or something.
If all the Beatles were alive they'd destroy the Stones.
If Brian Jones didn't die and if Mick Taylor never quit and if the Stones broke up in the '82 they'd destroy the Beatles even more. If.

The Beatles would still have Lennon though. Sorry for the double post.

Bron-Yr-Aur 07-28-2006 03:03 AM
Not quiet. You're getting closer though or something.
Nah, I think I got the premise down.
Their excellent solo careers are testament to this.
Solo careers aside, if the Beatles were still a functioning unit, I think they'd be better than the Stones.

My personal opinion.
If Brian Jones didn't die and if Mick Taylor never quit and if the Stones broke up in the '82 they'd destroy the Beatles even more. If.
To me, that theory is laughable, as I personally don't have much love for the Stones. It is however, your opinion, and no words of mine will change it, just as nothing you say will change mine.

God damnit look what you people have gone and done...Jacaranda has returned to break our spirit with his Stones propaganda.

Band On The Run, All Things Must Pass, Imagine, and Ringorama are all better than Bridges to Babalon *has just discovered he can't spell babalon*

Lennon wasn't the genius behind the Beatles. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I think what he was saying is that this is a moot topic, as no one could possibly predict with any sort of accuracy what the Beatles would've done had they not broken up.

Jacaranda 07-28-2006 03:13 AM
The Beatles would still beat The Stones .IMO
Well thats good but just remember to watch out for MTV cause they will brain wash you.

Too bad none of them are better then anything the Stones did in the early 70's or even Some Girls and Tattoo You. And I mean none, sorry George.

Leper 07-28-2006 03:20 AM

That's what Jac does...always keeps you wondering...which is why I don't even bother argueing with him haha.

El_Goodo 07-28-2006 03:20 AM
Name one Beatles solo album post-1973, excluding Brainwashed, that anyone could ever regard as a classic, or even good.
Maybe not classic but definitley good hmm;
Cloud 9
Chaos and Creation
Choose Love
Walls and Bridges
Rock N' Roll
Double Fantasy

Those are the ones i've heard.

Bron-Yr-Aur 07-28-2006 03:21 AM

Well then we better change the name of this thread so people know what their in for!

Jacaranda 07-28-2006 03:24 AM

Well hey look on the bright side the thread is alive now! Oh ya John's ego broke up the Beatles.

Bron-Yr-Aur 07-28-2006 03:24 AM
Don't get me wrong I do like them. Just not as much as some people. Obviously...
Kind of figured. I, however, am one of the people who regard them as genius, obviously.
John's ego broke up the Beatles
Nah, John's ego belonged to Yoko by that time. That whole John/Yoko spiel was definitely a huge part of it.
