Sounds interesting. I'd like the new Hammerfall album too, if you don't mind.

Black Hand Inn and Port Royal (whooaaooaoooaaaoaooaoaaahh!)
are great.

Txus 09-01-2006 03:04 PM

^ Under Jolly Roger is the best Running Wild album, everyone knows that :p

Lord Abortion 09-01-2006 03:06 PM

I have it somewhere, haven't got round to listening to it yet.
I think I got it just before the new Maiden album, and after that, all other music went out the window.

Txus 09-01-2006 03:14 PM

The new Maiden is SO good \m/

You should listen to it, it's really freaking good.

Lord Abortion 09-01-2006 03:19 PM

It's so good, that everyone who doesn't like Maiden should even listen to it, even the faggy magazines like Q and Mojo who don't ever give metal albums good reviews are praising it.

Txus 09-01-2006 03:21 PM

Q?? REALLY? haha, that's awesome.

Black Hand Inn is amazing, I bought the album a while ago and even though i haven't listen to it for a few weeks almost every song is still stuck in my head

Yeah, check out Maiden's site.

This is not necessarily a good thing...Anyway, the thing is I doubt someone like me, who believes maiden faded somewhere in the early 90s, would like the new album. I think it's mostly directed to fans of the new maiden era (post brave new world)...

Lord Abortion 09-01-2006 04:47 PM

Really though, it's very different to anything the band have done before, whilst remaining true to Maiden.

Stoic 09-01-2006 04:51 PM

...you're making me curious...If I were to listen to a song off the new album, which one would you suggest?

Txus 09-01-2006 04:53 PM

The Legacy!!

Get 'Port Royal' it's a great album. You can check out my review of them here http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=8546

Lord Abortion 09-01-2006 05:03 PM

The Legacy, These colours don't run, The longest day or for the greater good of God.
They're my favourites, but every song is excellent. This is Maiden with something new, proggier and very mature, which is I befitting, really.
It's strangely like Steve's early influences, like King Crimson, or Jethro Tull.

pate 09-01-2006 05:12 PM

Indeed. They have gone full circle.

Stormrider 09-01-2006 05:34 PM

I finally watched the BG DVD earlier today...

...damn I can't wait 'till November 29th.

NP And Then There Was Silence

HahahitnRun 09-01-2006 05:36 PM

I heard Hansi had a pretty bad stage presence on that DVD. Is his singing as good live as in the studio?

Stormrider 09-01-2006 05:41 PM

Well, at some of the high screaming parts, he sings them lower. But still, when he does do the higher stuff and all, it's awsome :)

Though, I understand that it's almost impossible to sing a BG song they way it is in studio live...

Tyr 09-01-2006 06:15 PM

Thanks for the Hammerfall link, pate.

Stoic 09-01-2006 06:26 PM
I heard Hansi had a pretty bad stage presence on that DVD. Is his singing as good live as in the studio?
He has a belly :p He's alright. A bit nervous and not much communicative though.

Stormrider 09-01-2006 07:02 PM

He still talkd with the crowd a little, but what he's saying, I have no idea. And yeah, the belly :p

What do you mean a bit nervous ?

Stoic 09-02-2006 04:48 AM

Nervous about the show. He seems like he's a bit cautious at first.

Stormrider 09-02-2006 09:48 AM

Hmm, yeah I see what you mean. I noticed that At first, he doesn't do as much of the screams/higher notes then around half way to the end.

Riva 09-02-2006 07:06 PM

Heh, even the big guys get stage fright.

That makes me feel a little better.

I really wish that all my favourite bands didn't lose their vocalists. I was very depressed last night, actually, about that fact.

Shattered_Future 09-02-2006 07:16 PM

Who lost their vocalist now?

Losing vocalists is not usually a good thing for a band...granted, there have been exceptions, but it's what people associate most with a band most of the time.

Riva 09-02-2006 07:17 PM

Lost Horizon, Galloglass, Dream Evil for a while, luckily Niklas and Peter saw the light.

Shattered_Future 09-02-2006 07:20 PM
Lost Horizon, Galloglass, Dream Evil for a while, luckily Niklas and Peter saw the light.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Well, the guy from Galloglass I always thought wasn't really that special, but NOT LOST HORIZON! He had one of the coolest voices ever...

Stormrider 09-02-2006 07:45 PM

I need to get more Galloglass eventually. and I neverheard Lost Horizon.

One of the coolest voices is the guy from Elvenking...Damna I think.
