I'm hearing the same thing, I've just been listening to the style of music for way too long to enjoy that. Maybe if it came out in like 2001 and the vocalist didn't suck, I'd enjoy it, but idk.

Plus The Chariot`s Everything is Alive is a pretty sick album, but they went to **** with The Fiancee.

Also I re-listened to some ABR tracks and they don`t sound much like Botch, I only listened to a handful of ABR tracks way back and that was the original impression I got from them.

Still, the band is **** and the fact they`re Bringon`s fav band solidifies this.

I'm pretty dissapointed in the Obscura, the demo was good, then it went down hill a little bit with the songs released on Myspace, and then with the album it got a little worse...maybe I should give it a little bit of time to grow on me...

Agreed thoroughly, The Goldman Demo is good too. (came out before Everything Is Alive).

As for AFI (I know ADB criticized this, but I don't feel like quoting)

idk how you'd get the Botch impression, even off one listen... they're just another heavily melodic death influenced metalcore band from Eastern PA (whoa maybe this has something to do with why I like them, maybe they're ALWAYS in the area).
