RHCP started recording their new album on the 15th!

Is A&I the only sub-forum with a Community Thread that actually says The Community Thread anymore?
If so, it's because we're so oldskool. |
http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263105 RHCP fans may want to check out the Other forum, incidentally. <_< >_> Oh, and Med - I downloaded The Art of Life. Thanks :) |

Word. Meh to the Politics forum though.
Oh, and Med - I downloaded The Art of Life. Thanks :)
Ditto. If Dream Theater were a little better, they'd sound like this. |
I didn't get why people were complaining about the guy's voice, either. I thought it was good (as in not just not bad). The only complaint I really have so far (16 minutes in) is a little overuse of the word "pain" in the lyrics.
|
I really like the guys voice. The only little beef I have with the song are the little almost inaudible spoken parts by that woman. I can't tell what she's saying.
But I guess all epic have to have little spoken parts in it. It must be a rule of some sort. |
tommorrow i will get tickets to go see Mars Volta, i am very excited :thumb:

Gday, I dont see many pics of gigs on here but i went to see secret machines on thursday and took a pic which came out rather cool. And if Br3ad guy looks at this the 2nd pic is of M83!

I once saw them, and they were not bad, but it did not blow me away. On a vaguely related note, I now remember why I usually don't go to gigs without friends. Yesterday I went alone, the band did not show up for 2 hours, and I sat around, bored to death. |
Hmmm.. I've pondered this for a while.. What bands should I recommend people who absolutely loves Nirvana, to expand their musical horizon? I always seem to run into all these people who love Nirvana.. And I think it's a waste of musical interest to waste it all on Kurt koben
|
Well, the obvious ones, mainly - Pixies, Dinsoaur Jr, and Mudhoney.
Then branch out a little - Gang Of Four, or Faith No More, maybe. Or you could take the historical root - go back to Led Zeppelin and work from there. |

I once saw them, and they were not bad, but it did not blow me away.
They were pretty good, but not as good as when i saw them support interpol last year. The drumming is so ferocious that it drowned out the guitars and keys a lot of the time but when the instruments were turned up it was lot more enjoyable. It was strange, they seemed a bit tired and annoyed (except for the drummer who kept smiling at my ex). Although they did pick themselves up for the encore of first wave intact and nowhere again and that was brilliant. I dont like to say it but M83 were sooo much better on the night Oh yeah the cheeky drummer handed my ex one of his sticks at the end as well, but what he didnt know was I had already stolen one that he dropped on the floor :D |
Three bands I've never really listened to.. Hehehe |
Mudhoney - Touch Me I'm Sick
Dinosaur Jr - Freak Scene Pixies - Debaser If I were gonna narrow it down to just 3 songs. |
Wright Brothers avatar.
|
The aviators?
|
The bassist/drummer from NoMeansNo and Hanson Brothers
|
Ah, okay. I thought it must have been a musical reference I wasn't in on.
|
Have you never listened to NoMeansNo?
|
You just reminded me, I have a grand total of one of their songs.
It's the one you put the lyrics of in your journal a while back. Lonely, I think? |
