I don't mind listening to music created today, but it has to be by a veteran artist, usually.

I love Alice Cooper, the Rolling Stones, ****ed, Buzzcocks, Stranglers, Cure, Undertones and Wayne Kramer. Their most recent material is often my favourite.

If you hate Clapton then it might be hard to like Cream. And just because you don't like them doesn't mean it's not good.

BludgeonySteve 10-01-2004 09:17 PM

Uhh, yeah. Umm, try Wheels Of Fire. It's really good (at least i think it is).

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-01-2004 09:17 PM

The only reason why I hate Clapton is for his solo "Me and Mr. Johnson" He covered Robert Johnson and he miserbly failed and for that I belive that he should be sent to that satan guy.

BludgeonySteve 10-01-2004 09:19 PM

One small thing is no reason to HATE him, Sheesh. Listen to his original work.

Yea he messed up on one album his whole life. For Robert Johnson covers check out Crossroads live on Wheels of Fire. It owns you.

thelizardkingcc 10-01-2004 09:21 PM

if you want to hear some sweet cream tunes check out "sunshine of your love" one of the best classic rock guitar riffs ever, "i feel free" "strange brew" "crossroads," all great songs...

ok time for a quick poll:
cream vs yardbirds.
my vote is for the yardbirds.

magicbus 10-01-2004 09:21 PM

Man, you and Robert Johnson. All the time. Don't be so gay.

ANYWAYS

That Rusted Root song is in that Ice Age movie. I thought it was Finding Nemo, but upon further research, I found Ice Age instead.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-01-2004 09:22 PM

Ill try it..........

lunch998 10-01-2004 09:25 PM

I'd take Cream over the Yardbirds.
Try White Room and Tales of Brave Ulysses.

Keep it friendly guys.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-01-2004 09:27 PM

It pisses me off when a guy thinks he should cover a song and then it being bad
Edit: ^sorry about that

Badmoon 10-01-2004 09:28 PM

I liked that album :upset:

"They're Red Hot" was covered great.
It pisses me off when a guy thinks he should cover a song and then it being bad
Let me just say that he covered many songs with Cream that were done great.
I liked that album :upset:

I didn't say I disliked it. I was just going along with him to say that even if Clapton didn't do a great job on that album, hes got so much other great stuff to make up for it.

Woodstock 10-01-2004 09:30 PM

Badmoon, I could of sworn that you reviewed Retrospective but I cant find it anymore, so did you?

Badmoon 10-01-2004 09:30 PM

So, how's "Run For Your Life"?

BludgeonySteve 10-01-2004 10:41 PM

Run for your life was really good. Great style of playing :)

Well anyway. I asked the whole forum. Now i'm asking the classic rock buffs.

What are your opinons on Aerosmith? Seriously. I'm not a huge fan or anything but i'm interested.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-01-2004 11:11 PM

Areosmith is Ok toys in the attic was good and so was rocks but I dont see the big deal about them the songwritting isn't to impressive the music can almost sound hair metal.
So, how's "Run For Your Life"?
Rocknotroll gave it to me and I was very impressed :thumb:

On Aerosmith: I like most of their music from what ive heard. My younger brother and Dad are pretty big fans. I find they are like AC/DC (but they are better at their insruments(harder riffs, better bass and drums) being that their music is catchy but not that impressive to the music extent.

That may be hard to understand^

My favourite song is Ragdoll :thumb:

Stroudy 10-02-2004 07:21 AM

what defines a band as classic rock

jpj 10-02-2004 08:01 AM

an old rock band that still rocks today

jpj 10-02-2004 08:09 AM

and about aerosmith i like them. they're not the world's greatest song writers, but i think its enjoyable music.i have honkin on bobo, its all blues songs...pretty cool

slowhand 10-02-2004 08:34 AM

I'm just going to ignore some of the Clapton comments...

Anyways, I read 20 pages of this thread now! Yay! But really, I thinik we should stop spamming, it's getting out of control.

And to those who are interested in the Rolling Stones Rock 'n Roll Circus, there's a CD and VHS out there. DVD is comming out the 15th of this month, so I'm saving up to buy it.

Badmoon 10-02-2004 08:35 AM

Aerosmith - I like a lot of their older stuff, not their newer stuff, nor them as people at the moment. They are sellouts now.

Badmoon 10-02-2004 08:40 AM

anyone want some samples from me? I just uploaded some new stuff.

jpj 10-02-2004 08:41 AM

what stuff?
