How much money do you save making your own shirts and stuff? Where is a good place to get the supplies?
it really depends. paint is normally 3$ so times that my how much paint you buy. Also shirts and brushes. i dont know how much that stuff is cause i found that around the house. Since band shirts are 20$ +/- ur saving a good 15$. now if you steal the paint and shirts then your saving more. if you do that steal from Wal-Mart. that’s the general rule ive noticed here. if you buy, buy from Joann’s or Michaels for paint and brushes. dont go to the paint section look around in the kids section its usually there. Target has the 10 shirts in a bundle type deal i think. |
/me rasterbates every photo i have, using up a hell of a lot of paper

Why?!

Damn good idea.
Edit: Although it is listed in every shopplifting 101 article out there. |

|
What do you do with the money you save from DIY?
i think the thing is most people that do things DIY don't even have any money in the first place :p. |
I like the tape one a lot.
Thanks a lot, I sort of half traced that then went over it in sharpie, then coloured it in with these fabric crayons. Yeah I was really bored one night.
o btw to UK-S-S thanks alot for recommending be the king blues...amazing band. my brother got me there cd when in England and i love them. he also saw lightyear in concert, i dont know where though.
Ah awesome glad you like them :thumb: I really really do. By DYI shirts doesn't that take money from the bands?
|
Do you download music?
|
What do you do with the money you save from DIY?
i normally end up buying cds and stuff for drums, right now im saving up for a bass. what else would i spend it on??
By DYI shirts doesn't that take money from the bands?
not really cause most of the shirts, i make anyways, are of bands that dont have shirts. i also dont think a band makin 20 cents from a shirt is really goin to give a crap. |

Defiance, Ohio put all their songs they've ever recorded up for download for free on their site. if a band is truely punk, they shouldn't care if you buy things from them. |
If you wanna stay punk, you gotta stay poor!
well, you could get a job. |
1) werd, I'm too poor to be able to afford clothes if I don't make them
2) I don't give a shit, most of the shirts I make are of bands that I can't buy a shirt from. 3) Most proper punks are aesthetically unemployable, I don't know about you, but I would hire people with green liberty spikes if I was the manager of Harrods.. |
I don't look like a punk, but I'm picky about where I work. I want to enjoy my job.
So until then, I sell buttons and tie-dye. Sometimes stenciled things too. I enjoy making them, I enjoy selling them. It all works out. |
i'm picky too. i'd probably only ever work at maybe a small coffee shop, CD store, or bookstore.
i also have problems looking "presentable" sometimes, but only because i often let my beard grow too long and have messy hair. but then again, i never say i don't care about not getting more money from music :p. i had no problem with the concept of my last band making decent $$$ off CD sales. but when a band acts like they're too "punK' for the corporate lifestyle blah blah blah, i help them along by downloading everything off Limewire and such ;). |
if bands had "jobs" then they would never tour and you would never see them. so if their band isnt making them money then they would just be playing locally
|

i know plenty of bands who tour for weeks at a time and still have jobs. |
