I think it would take a little more than the Grudge to get me talking.

Eulogy. With drums, and MIDI guitar doing Maynard's little megaphone thing in the beginning.

dUSK 04-26-2005 10:19 PM

w00t! I actually have internet access while Joz is doing these. Thanks man. :thumb:

That's awesome. What software did you use to do that stuff?

Edit: Meaning the guitar midi thing.

The JoZ 04-26-2005 10:48 PM

All of my drums and fake guitar sounds come from a program called Harmony Assistant.

Huber 04-26-2005 10:49 PM

Thanks

BTW good job with that whole thing :thumb:

Tomorrow's agenda...The Grudge and The Patient during the day, and maybe Schism at night after practice.

Huber 04-26-2005 11:06 PM

That's cool, I can play The Patient on guitar. I might actually use one of these things. Hoorah!

Backing track for "Part of Me"
Am I imagining things, or do i hear Adam's 'solo' in the mix? Im assuming that you played it to the track.

Great work again though, i like this one the most so far, its so easy to jam to.

kurrpt 04-27-2005 06:59 AM

Joz for EL PRESIDENTE!!! I have band practice tonight, but afterwards ill try recording guitar over it :-)

The solo is dam easy, maybe ill jazz it up a bit

Adam Jones is GOD 04-27-2005 07:03 AM

If you can fit a jazz solo into that song, ill give you credit

kurrpt 04-27-2005 07:11 AM
If you can fit a jazz solo into that song, ill give you credit
well, im not sure if it will "jazz" in the true sense, since im not even sure what scales they would use. What i meant was a solo that is spruced up a bit, since the one in part of me is not very eventful

Adam Jones is GOD 04-27-2005 07:13 AM

It fits the song well though. I dont really think it needw to be any longer,as the song itself is short and snappy (and also very repetitive by the end)

clearvision 04-27-2005 07:37 AM

What happened to eulogy?

My eulogy is 8:27

JoZ track is 9:03

what happened there

Adam Jones is GOD 04-27-2005 07:42 AM

Joz got carried away.

I should compare his other recordings. Might explain why im still getting thrown off by Stinkfist

(this is in no way critical of JoZ's playing, merely over the fact he probably plays a few extra notes to give it a signature feel)

/recovery

The JoZ 04-27-2005 09:38 AM

JoZ plays with backing tracks that may or may not be the exact length of the song. I have no idea why Eulogy is so much longer than the original, however :amaze:

I do throw in a few extra slides or notes here and there, depending on the song (see Cold and Ugly) because I think it fits and/or I can't hear what is really being played so I fudge it a bit.

If you hear bits of a guitar or singing, or something in the background, it's cause you're hearing what I'm playing along with. I am recording with a mic, as opposed to simply line in, so there are a few background noises here and there. But if you're guitaring over it, you shouldn't hear those anyway :thumb:

After I get cleaned up and eat, I will start on some of these other recordings.

AJIG, Jerk Off hasn't been done yet because the MIDI backing track I have sucks, and I don't know the song well enough to play without it (cause I need to read the notes), so I'm going to try and find a better version of the song and get that recorded for you soon. Then, Aenima, Grudge and Patient, and maybe later tonight, if it's not too late when I get home, Schism and Lateralus.

dam Sam, im looking forward to those

The JoZ 04-27-2005 09:49 AM

Oh yeah AJIG, Aenima will definetly have a 'signature feel to it', just to warn you (and everyone else) :p

Adam Jones is GOD 04-27-2005 11:17 AM

Good. Its fair to say that my version of Ænema is not going t be the same as anyone elses. I change a lot, including the solo part (although the original is sweet still)

Word.

Jerk Off.

No drums, sorry, I couldn't find any. I kind of mess up the section right before the chords, and I miss like two chords, but I still think it's pretty solid.

Aenema is next.

Adam Jones is GOD 04-27-2005 11:25 AM

No matter, I prefer them without drums in some cases, as I can put my own in with Fruity Loops.

That is, if I knew what the hell I was doing with any kind of drum pattern. Must spend more time lurking the drum forum articles.

clearvision 04-27-2005 11:37 AM

Stick around, Aenema will be up shortly :p
