Lord Abortion 05-09-2006 05:09 AM

Yeah...still have absolutely no idea who he is.

Mother 05-09-2006 05:13 AM

He was the other guitarist who played with Marty Friedman in cacophony.

*I feel stupid*

Chu 05-09-2006 05:47 AM

Sorry, but Friedman was just another guitarist who played with Jason Becker in Cacophony.

Becker made Cacophony unique, not just another shred band.

Enlighten Me 05-09-2006 08:50 AM

Man both Becker and Friedman were around 18 when they released the cacophony albums.

Chu 05-09-2006 08:58 AM

Becker was 17 I think, and isn't Marty about 5 years older?

Lord Abortion 05-09-2006 09:13 AM

I don't know who Cacophany were either...

Enlighten Me 05-09-2006 09:16 AM

Well I was wrong, i just checked it out.
And btw Marty is 8 years older than him.

Jev 05-09-2006 09:22 AM
Jason who?
Wow. I thought you'd heard of Becker or Cacophony.

Chu 05-09-2006 06:14 PM

Didn't realise Marty was that old :x

pep 05-09-2006 06:31 PM

whatever the case, it was both who made cacophony unique, not just jason.

FatalEnergy 05-09-2006 10:00 PM
I don't know who Cacophany were either...
You've got some major catching up to do.

Jev 05-10-2006 02:35 AM

Agreed. I might upload some for anyone who wants it.

Enlighten Me 05-10-2006 03:15 AM

Cacophony is great, but the vocals suck. the singer screams as if his balls were caught in a blender.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-10-2006 03:18 AM

says the man with a Dream Theater avatar :D

Cacophony is ok but Shred ain't my thing.

dude you can't be serious comparing James Labrie to Peter Marrino!

Apocalyptic Raids 05-10-2006 04:36 AM

nah, I was just kidding around.

Enlighten Me 05-10-2006 05:18 AM

*phew*

Mother 05-10-2006 05:45 AM

I always Phew was something ou say when you make a lucky escape..

Im off to think about it for a while.

Jev 05-10-2006 09:36 AM

Peter Marrino sucks so bad.
People who think Dave's singing is bad should hear him!

Drone 05-10-2006 01:00 PM

I think it is funny that a lot of the time when people find fault in Megadeth, it is just because of Dave's voice, and never the music. Dave is actually one of my favorite vocalists. His snarl displays a certain attitude and anger that I have yet to find in any other vocalist.

Jev 05-10-2006 01:01 PM

I hated the vocals at first, now he's one of my favourite singers.

Drone 05-10-2006 01:07 PM

I loved the vocals from the minute I heard them. The only ones that get on my nerves a little are his vocals on KIMB. I think his voice is currently in the best shape it has ever been in.

Jev 05-10-2006 01:09 PM

Yeah, He just gets better and better. He can still do the early stuff too, unlike some singers.

Mother 05-10-2006 01:12 PM

His voice will always stand out.

Drone 05-10-2006 01:15 PM

Yes, Tom Araya is a good example of someone who can barely do vocals now at all. It's a shame, too. :(

His vocals were not too bad when I saw Slayer in 2004, but in many live bootlegs I have seen, he sounds terrible. Dave sounded amazing at Gigantour in Montreal, though. The snarls in The Scorpion and in Set the World Afire sounded awesome. Holy crap, I hope I can go again this year! Did you all know that Gigantour is going to be international this time around?

definately, i know what you mean. i love Dave's vocals. if anyone questions them, they don't know what he plays at the same time.... quite brilliant

Cannibalcorpse1626 05-10-2006 01:52 PM

Yeah, Dave has a great voice.

Enlighten Me 05-10-2006 02:17 PM

I too like Dave's voice. Except for sweating bullets which is kinda lame.

victim of changes 05-10-2006 08:21 PM

i've never really doubted dave's vocals but they fit in with the band perfectly, another obvious example of someone who can barely do vocals now is hetfield they keep getting worse, and worse its a shame i still cant wait for their album though.

Dave Mustaine is my favourite singer (and my favourite guitarist/musician).
His voice is so unique, it's hard to describe, and even harder to imitate.

That song owns.

I do a good Dave impression... In my head.

eug008 05-11-2006 06:28 AM

Daves voice on the Gigantour footage (Arsenal) is the best I've heard of him live.

Jev 05-11-2006 09:04 AM

I'll get that one day...

Lord Abortion 05-11-2006 09:27 AM

One day in the life of the lonely...
Another day on the round about
What do they need
Somebody to love...

Guess the song?
(Not 'deth:))

Jev 05-11-2006 09:29 AM

TV Criiiiiiiiiiiiiimes.

What's that about?

Lord Abortion 05-11-2006 09:41 AM

Nowt...you just put the song in my mind with your last post

Jev 05-11-2006 09:43 AM

Orite.
That's like the only Black Sabbath song I know the lyrics to :-/

Neoteric 05-11-2006 03:54 PM
I hated the vocals at first, now he's one of my favourite singers.
He can't sing, he's cool but he just can't :)

Drone 05-11-2006 04:03 PM

Oh, he definitely can't sing at all. I still like his voice, though.
