this is a skateboard i made with chuck berry on it

Wo BCT, I didn't see that. That's ****ing awesome. Chuck Berry is the man.
|
you should see what hes making now.
|
cleaning up is a bitch, especially if you use photo emulsion stuff.
No way man, If you use the Speedball photo emulsion remover, and do it like the instructions say, it comes off EXTREMELY easily :D |
Well...I lost that stuff so...
If I had a camera I'd take pictures of stuff I've been working on. I made a messenger bag the other day, and I fixed a bike I got for $15 and it's working order. I tried to make fortune cookies but the recipe didn't work at all so I got discouraged and gave up... |
BCTs latest project:
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/IMG_0545.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/IMG_0546.jpg its a picture of our friend jeff. hes in some big local band and they have these really funny pictures of them on their website so brett made a stencil of jeff. he cut it and i sprayed it. we tried using that spray on fabric paint and it didnt turn out too well. there was so much underspray and it just wasnt good. spraypaint is where its at. |
That looks pretty damn cool.

What kind of paper did you use for the stencil? |
yeah its the cheap kind too. it works well but it fades after a while.
and brett used a folder. one of those manilla or whatever its called folders. folders, posterboard, whatever is slightly thicker than paper works. i just made a spiderman shirt for my friend. ill post pics tomorow. |
that chuck berry stencil was amazing. nice job. :thumb:
im cant really think of another stencil to make. i was going to do a ramones stencil but the only one i can find is the eagle, and personally i hate that thing. None of the songs are very good to make in to a stencil its self. i was thinkin bout a shirt with a pole and street sign that has 53rd & 3rd. thats sounds like a ****ty idea though. what do you guys think? o also on side note, not DIY, i went to a concert saturday(29) and the ringing hasnt faded like it normally does, do u think it permanent?? im startin to get kinda worried. |
i love it when my ears ring

Has anyone got a Dead Boys, Johnny Thunders or Plasmatics stencil that they could pretty please upload/link me to?

The show wasnt good if your ears don't ring. Seriously though, my ears don't stop ringing until about a week after the show usually. |
Someone, quick, suggest a natural diy herbal remedy for ringing ears!
I heartily endorse the freezer paper method of making stencils. I did quite a few patches a couple nights ago, and it works real well. The only downside I can see about it is that it's a one shot deal. Other than that, though, it's great - the stencils are transparent, easy to cut, and they don't leak. Does anyone here do bike work? I recently bought an old Peugeot (circa 1977) and have been fixing it up. I've gotten it to a point where I'm real happy with it, and I've only spent about 75 $ total. Everything runs smoothly, it looks pretty sharp, and I can keep up with those stupid spandex bike jocks no problem. |

that's usually a sign that your hearing won't last you past the age of 30. |
I am totally fine with that.
|
Hm, I just got an idea.
With using freezer paper, you don't need to move the stencil until after the paint dries. So, you could do a stencil in white over a black background, and then do another color over than. It would make the stenciled design really pop out. Screen printers freqently do that with dark-colored shirts. Now I'm excited -- I want to try it. |
first time wandering into the punk forums (usually stick to d&p or pwni) and found this thread pretty sweet, cause i've done a few stencils in the past
here's a pretty basic one, just Thought Riot printed on a hooded sweatshirt: http://djs.painswitch.com/temp/sweatshirt.JPG and stencil for it http://djs.painswitch.com/temp/stencil.JPG and this one isn't really punk related, but it's a shirt i did for someone in california after arnold got elected. underneath the picture i put "The Governator" http://djs.painswitch.com/temp/governator/P1010002-small.jpg |
Those are really nice, they all look really well done. I love "The Governator", how many layers did you have to do because I find 3 and above really hard.
|
Pretty cool.

How come? What was wrong?
|
How come? What was wrong?
Well when it rasterizes the image, the pixels instead become very large circles. From a distance it looks fine, but upclose (like when cutting a stencil) it's bad. It takes away a lot of the detail. But I'm probably going to give it a few more tries. |
How much money do you save making your own shirts and stuff? Where is a good place to get the supplies?
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/dbj.jpg
I'm going to make that into a t-shirt. I probably won't use stencils, just one of those iron-on sheets. They're crappy, but I don't want to mess with the design. |
