good rats 04-13-2005 06:54 AM

I'm hoping that this Trace head is Pre-Gibson though. Check out this link to see what happened. http://www.melband.com.au/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=15887

Thunder Fingers 04-13-2005 06:57 AM

:thumb: i dont think the Gibson period stuff is THAT **** realy... becouse the production wasnt moved, there where plans of starting to produce in usa, but i think the plug got pulled before that... everything trace is produced in the U.K....

good rats 04-13-2005 06:58 AM

So even if it was a Trace when is was bought by Gibson, it's still a good head?

Thunder Fingers 04-13-2005 07:03 AM

i would think so.. i mean.. the managment changed, im pretty sure that many of the workers where the same... some probaly followed over to ashdown, but i think there was some left...

good rats 04-13-2005 07:06 AM

Hmmm...well if this guy sells it, for a rpice within my price range, I'll go play it, if I like it, I'll get it. :thumb:
It's either this Trace Elliot head, or the Behringer BX3000t.

Thunder Fingers 04-13-2005 07:07 AM

i think any trace is more trustable than a behringer....

Considered Hartke?

kilian 04-13-2005 07:55 AM
i think any trace is more trustable than a behringer....
I wouldn't say that.. Because some guys on the forum don't like it so much and they are vets, doesn't mean that is is so. :thumb:

But then again.. trace is a real amp company, if you get my point :thumb:

I will get a call within the next hour from the store where I ordered my DIMARZIO MODEL J pickups  They are going to tell me how much they will be (I guess about 150 EURO, so about 175 dollars) and when they will be delivered :thumb:

I am also going to change the potmeters (again) and build in a push/pull switch to switch to series/parralel :amaze:

Jamie 04-13-2005 08:02 AM

^^^ Nice Kili!

Whats the sound difference between series and parrallel?

kilian 04-13-2005 08:08 AM

Series: Hotter output, more mids, specifically lower mids.
Parallel: Weaker output, more lows, more highs, less mids

According to edge..

And it is only a little bit more money for a potmeter I have to replace anyway :thumb: So why not? It gives again more versitality to the bass :)

I think the price is still rather high.. :upset: But I want them

good rats 04-13-2005 08:13 AM
Considered Hartke?
Well, Hartke is double my price range, and I am most likely getting this head for my birthday from my folks. And I can't go to expensive.

good rats 04-13-2005 09:21 AM

Well I'm off. Good night MX
AAAAAAAAAH! 3 piece band! they guy want a 3 piece band! that means no second guitarist to ruin my basslines! (what you gonna say? when i have adoptet the geddy lee style of making basslines, a 3 piece + Vocalist fit me awsomely!)
3 piece bands are awesome indeed. :thumb:

Thunder Fingers 04-13-2005 09:42 AM
3 piece bands are awesome indeed. :thumb:
they give so much more freedom for bass players.. i often find rythm guitars limiting for what i can do on the bass... i tried a bass track for one of my bands, it crashed with the rythm guitar, but when me and the lead guitarist played togheter it sounded great...

Spaceman Spiff 04-13-2005 09:47 AM

Yeah. It really gives more freedom to everyone in the band, not only the bassist. When the music starts getting crowded then the writing needs to be altered so everyone is able to fit in perfectly.

SO TRUE!

I am in a 5 piece band (2 guitarist, bassist, drummer, girl singer) and in a 3 piece.

I like both, but the 3 piece gives me just that more space thing! And the guitar in the 3 piece is also almost unlimited, he can go all the way and I just follow (or I go all the way and he follows). But the other band has this ENERGY we get together :thumb: And sometimes the second guitarist sings and that leaves space for me :p

Thunder Fingers 04-13-2005 10:07 AM

well, if they want me its gonna be a 4 piece, but one being a vocalist, so i kinda dont count them along with the BAND...

my other band is also a 5 piece... but, im not sure, it would be wrong of me to start a new band when its so short time left before im leaving the city for a year... i have alot of music related thinkin on my mind for the time being :p

kilian 04-13-2005 10:09 AM

hehe yeah it is hard to start a band and then leaving the city :p

In the 3 piece band, we're searching for a singer (male, we play old rock/blues/jazz/improv. etc) who can play another instrument.. BUT NO GUITAR :D
What would you suggest?

Thunder Fingers 04-13-2005 10:12 AM

What instrument? and we are talkin blues and jazz? Trumpet! :p

Dieforitall89 04-13-2005 10:13 AM

Hey guys.. Piano/keyboards are good in blues/jazz too.

Jamie 04-13-2005 10:16 AM

Alto sax!

I want to learn alto sax. Is there any good websites that have info on it?

kilian 04-13-2005 10:17 AM

hello dude! =)

Trumpet could be nice.. but remember it is also old rock etc :thumb: We will wait who reacts at our advertisement !

I am going to do some jogging with a friend of mine! bye MX

Dieforitall89 04-13-2005 10:23 AM

Later kili...and no idea whatsoever jamie..however do you have any idea where i can find some keyboard charts?

Thunder Fingers 04-13-2005 11:18 AM

All that we can do is just survive... all that we can do to help our self, is to stay alive...

black_star 04-13-2005 11:25 AM

Hey Eddie, Jamie,Dieforitall

fatbandit 04-13-2005 12:16 PM

I live. Unfortunately for you all. Just downloaded the latest MSN. It scares me.

Dieforitall89 04-13-2005 12:19 PM

Hey...and whats new on it/is it worth getting?

PaulR 04-13-2005 12:41 PM
I live. Unfortunately for you all. Just downloaded the latest MSN. It scares me.
Why does it scare you?

fatbandit 04-13-2005 12:47 PM

There's nothing really worth getting on it. But I had to redo all my settings. It'll just take a bit of getting used to. You can set it so that people can see what you're listening to on Windows Media Player, but I don't use WMP, so its kind of a moot point for me.

black_star 04-13-2005 12:49 PM

Hello.

PaulR 04-13-2005 12:50 PM

It works using iTunes as well.

Works for me anyway.

fatbandit 04-13-2005 12:53 PM

Hmm. I use the software that came with my mp3 player - Creative Media Source. I used to use WMP, but it started cocking up.

PaulR 04-13-2005 12:54 PM

You have an mp3 player?

How big, what make etc...

I have around 3000 songs but I have to burn them to CD before I listen.

Thunder Fingers 04-13-2005 12:56 PM

,...And if the music stops..its only the sound of the rain.. all the hope and glory... all the sacrifice is lost....

Spaceman Spiff 04-13-2005 01:11 PM

Hello people.
