I still have no idea what I will play at Berklee.

Too many choices, yet... too few at the same time.

bottlerocket 04-12-2005 07:16 PM
i like taking back sunday a bunch like enough for me and gav to take one of their songs and perform it two man style at berklee
Yes we are.

I still don't know what song I'm going to cover solo, though.

I'm still leaning towards Power by MM, even though it's double thumbed.

Spaceman Spiff 04-12-2005 07:20 PM

What stuff do you need to do at Berkelee?

bottlerocket 04-12-2005 07:23 PM

^ Clothes, money, sleeping bag, pillow, bass, chords, tuner, etc.

Just stuff like that.

Left Shoe 04-12-2005 07:27 PM

Spaceman Spiff 04-12-2005 07:27 PM

Err, I mean performance-wise.

bottlerocket 04-12-2005 07:29 PM

^ Sorry, I currently have 14 AIM convos going so I'm just glancing at MX. Way for me to misread what you said. :p

Just bring a piece in that you can play to demonstrate your ability.

So, who here watches "Curb Your Enthusiasm"?

Myself and a couple friends in my drama class had an awesome, and very possible, idea that could get us started in the second greatest career there is... comedy writing. :thumb:
Our idea is to contact a television station for a public access show that we could make, which is somewhat like "Curb Your Enthusiasm", which is basically a show that is 'a day in the life of Larry David' however, our idea follows that 'a day in the life of' sort of structure, except there is a group of a few main characters, rather than only one guy throughout the whole thing.

Anyone think this is a good idea/like the idea?

And if you don't, oh well. :)

Yeah, I've passed for 21 before (at a local venue, they mark 21 and younger with black marker xs on their hands). I'm only turnin 17 though. To be honest, birthdays don't much matter to me. Over here, only a few people actually KNOW it's gonna be my birthday.

good rats 04-12-2005 08:22 PM

That sounds like a great idea Spaceman! Iff you could get your act together for it all, it could be really good. Good luck with that. :thumb:

As long as it doesn't become canned laugher-bad sitcom dealio, go for it. If you want true dramatic comedy, check out the reduced shakespeare company. It's tied with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead as well as Shakespeare in love for "Best Play" by the pancake.

It wouldn't be one of those, there wouldn't be any live studio audience or any laugh tracks, it would just be comedy.

And we are all experienced* comedy writers at the ages of 17-18 years.

Experienced as in... we're all damn funny!

And rats. if that was a real alien fetus from Roswell, I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to put it on eBay... for $20.

Reminds me of our drama group.... if only i could get our video online. We have some funny funny stuff- and most of it isn't puerile stupid humor, either.
