I just found a Torture Squad CD on the internet, and OH MY GOD it is great! These guys are awesome.
http://metalrequiem.******.com/music.html That's the site.
Exorcist - Nightmare Theatre Venom - Demon (Demo) Incubus - To The Devil A Daughter Exodus - 1982 Demo S.A. Slayer - Go For The Throat Torture Squad - Pandemonium
is what's on there. \m/>_<\m/ |
Pandemonium is one of the best thrash records I've ever heard. Brazilian thrash that's better than anything Sepultura has ever done [Beneath the Remains is a possible execption]. I strongly advise everyone gives it a try.

Yes! The album fucking owns, everyone listen!
|
I'm going to seriously need to see them sometime. I think they should reunite with Gustafson some day.
NP: Anthrax - One Man Stands Weird, one track apart on the same album. I seriously love Persistence of Time, an excellent, if not underrated melodic thrash album. RUN IT THROUGH, DISCHARGE
Yeah, Gustafson was a very underrated player, he was really badass, and I would say he wrote Overkill's best songs and solos. Persistance of Time is definatley a classic thrash record for sure :thumb: |
Why did they get rid of him/he split with them in the first place?
|
Holy, that would be a dream.
Edit: Aussies are deprived of everythign. :upset:
**** Europeans and Americans get all the good bands  Mustaine mentioned that they were in negotiations to bring the tour down here, albeit with a slightly different line up. Pandemonium has been posted in the thread along time ago but at a bad quality, what bitrate are those mp3s? |
The mp3's are at 192kb/s, at least for Pandemonium. I haven't checked the others.
|
Why did they get rid of him/he split with them in the first place?
I read something about that, I think it said something like He and D.D. Verni were fighting and D.D. wanted to leave the band, but somehow he ended up leaving and I doubt he would get back with them because they got in fights because he wasn't getting royalties for the songs he wrote after he left band |
sweet, the mp3s i have are only 80kbps
|
I think every regular in this thread has heard Pandemonium. Nothing new, although if you HAVEN'T heard it you're a poseur, and I demand your head on a pike. :p
I agree with Efil. I think Overkill should do a show with Gustafson as a guest, not replacement, guitarist. They could play Evil Never Dies or Bare Bones, and him and Linsk could trade leads! That would own hard. NP: Torturer - Flames of Purification |
It's official. Kreator just overtook Megadeth as my favorite thrash band of all time.

That site was ok, i wouldn't agree with everything but overall it got it generally right. Execept for saying Schizophrenia was for "Completists only", that was stupid.

So uhh... Overkill, Anthrax, and Testament possibly on Gigantour, how great would that be? |
I like the site, I agree with most of it.. but still, I think Rust in Peace and Peace Sells should be rated higher than Master of Puppets... but then again, im very biased.

Can you actually read reviews on that site? |

I agree for the most part I guess, but they put new Testament above old Testament... |
I found another pretty cool band today, has anyone heard of Polterkrist? They're pretty good from the one time I listened to the CD.
I seem to have lost the link... I'll edit it in if I find it. |

some of the new is better than the old. practice what you preach is such a amazing album. |

1985-1988-Best years http://www.themetalmatrix.com/index.html
It's not a bad site but it totally lost its credibility when it labelled St Anger and in fact any post AJFA Metallica as thrash, as well as wrongly labelling Pantera and Machine Head as thrash. NP: Overkill - End of the Line |
Yeah, that site is kinda sloppy. I've been there before and some of the stuff they label as thrash...is just wrong.
|
www.classicthrash.com is a good site about thrash.
o, and RCA, im complaining becuase PM ****s all over Agent Orange. :thumb: |
I love Agent Orange.
|
yeah, its good, but not as good as Persecution Mania.
NP: Dorsal Atlantica - Torture (RCA you got me around to finally getting some of this :thumb: ) |
yeah, its good, but not as good as Persecution Mania.
NP: Dorsal Atlantica - Torture (RCA you got me around to finally getting some of this :thumb: )
Glad you like the Dorsal Atlantica! I now like Persecution Mania and Agent Orange both equally now. |
New Heathen Track!
I found an MP3 of the song "Dying Season" from Heathen's new demo. This song will be featured on their new album, which is currently untitled and is still in pre-production stages.
I liked it, and I hope you all enjoy! :thumb: http://www.heathenmetal.com/sample/DyingSeason.mp3 (Right-click, then "Save Target As" for this one.) |
some of the new is better than the old. practice what you preach is such a amazing album.
The title track is something to awe over, but as an album The Legacy pretty much beats out everything, and The New Order was a great album too. |
The only Testament I liked was their first two albums. To RCA: That sounds good, I've never heard Heaten before.
|

Even better, this new material is actually a good representation of Heathen's old material. It's looking like they will be the first 80's bay-area thrash band to release an actual full thrash album. |
Thats good, their old stuff is hard to come by.
|
some of the new is better than the old. practice what you preach is such a amazing album.
PWYP is pretty old, considering it was their third album and released in 89. |
Thats good, their old stuff is hard to come by.
You can d/l both of their other full length albums at www.heathenmetal.com :thumb: |
That demo reminded me of the old Flotsam and Jetsam albums, ala No Place For Disgrace.
Now I have Overkill permanently burned into my brain, but I love it \m/>_<\m/ Life - Live in danger! Death - Welcome Stranger! In Sin - You Deny the Cross! |
That Heathen song was pretty cool RCA.
|
That Heathen is awesome. Great stuff, thanks. :)
