Okay.
By peeling I mean that the coating eventually starts to peel off the strings after they get played enough. I can't remember how long it was before there was any peeling.
Yeah, there isn't any peeling on the strings. The bass was hardly ever touched in the store. Everyone here plays four or five strings, and you have to be crazy to play a six. There was another kid there that played six, but he used the other SR506. There isn't any peeling occuring, though. |
Alright. It's probably safe to assume that they sound brand new, then.
|
If you mean "extremely bright," then, yeah, they do. :p
|
Well, I just hope that I like them when I do put them on.
If not, well, I still have another set that sounds good, and I'd probably just leave these on anyway and play them until they lose some of that brightness. |

I am a D'Addario man. |
I don't really know what any other strings sound like. I've never gone out and bought a new set of strings.
Well, once, for my 4 string a long time ago, but I don't even remember which ones those were. |
Eh...I don't think I have had a set of strings on long enough for them to go dead, so I am just used to the new sound of strings. I, mainly, only really like new strings for their brightness in the higher strings. Other than that, it doesn't really affect me or my playing much.

http://ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/eddie_van_halens_son_joins_van_halen.html Van Halen has officially hired 15-year-old Wolfgang Van Halen -- the son of guitarist Eddie Van Halen and estranged wife Valerie Bertinelli, and nephew of drummer Alex Van Halen -- as the new bassist for the band, according to TMZ.com. Wolfgang replaces longtime bassist Michael Anthony, who left the band earlier this year. Van Halen spokesperson Janie Liszewski tells TMZ.com that Wolfgang, known as "Wolfie," has already joined his dad and uncle for rehearsals in the studio. Wolfie played dates with his father during the band's 2004 tour, and the song "316" on 1991's "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" was named for Wolfie's birth date that same year. The band is still without a lead singer, despite rumors that David Lee Roth might rejoin. |

Quick question from my friend: which pickups (around Seymour Duncan price ranges) would one put in a P/J bass to get something close to Tool and/or TMV tones? |

Does anyone know how to put the octave markings in powertab so that a piece isn't ridiculously high above the staff?
