anybody her know that metallica is a type of spider? saw it in a pet store today. always wondered where the got the name. huh
If you are talking about how they got the name , you are wrong. Lars's friend needed a title for a Metal magazine. The guy liked Metallica, but Lars said it sucked and said to go with Metal Mania (I think). And so Lars was jking , he actually liked it and stole it.

Metalllica Rules The best album and is Master Of Puppets...

I can play A lot of the songs on guitar(not all the solos then ;) )

Disgustipated46&2 08-13-2004 04:14 AM

I really liked metallica up to the black album. After that They just seemed to get worse. I kind of wish they would have retired after the black album. They have lost a lot of respect and fans since then.

Squirrel 08-13-2004 04:27 AM

They'd be absolute legends if they'd quit after ..Justice.

Just 4 albums, better and better. That'd be so weird.

Holyed 08-13-2004 06:28 AM

It's because they either tried to take a new 'modern' root by realising albums like load and reload or because they were advised to make this move. It was a very bad move though, but Im not sure how long they could have gone trying to make masterpieces of albums.

The Bell Tolls 08-13-2004 01:25 PM

Hey load and reload are awesome (not as good as KEM-AJFA but anyhoo). fuel and fixxxer are great songs (i cant name the best one from load, a lot of them are the same level of kick-assness). the black album is still good, the unforgiven, Sad but true! but they should have stopped after reload though.

-=The_Dude=- 08-13-2004 01:51 PM

i admit metallicas first 4 albums are the best, but whats wrong with Load and Reload. Those CDs are so good. Im not crazy about the Black album or St Anger, but some of my favorite songs are on Load and Reload. What is there to not like about them?

metallica rocks hard 08-13-2004 01:55 PM

i like load and reload they are very good cds whats wrong with them

metallica rocks hard 08-13-2004 02:00 PM

The Bell Tolls 08-13-2004 02:01 PM

Paranoidd 08-13-2004 02:07 PM

I still say MOP was their best.

The Bell Tolls 08-13-2004 02:08 PM

yea, MOP or RTL.

-=The_Dude=- 08-13-2004 02:08 PM
I still say MOP was their best.
that or RTL

DisposableHeroes 08-13-2004 02:11 PM

wonder if Rob will bring an old school feel to the new album

dead56k 08-13-2004 02:14 PM

ride the lightning had the best guitar tone, that and S+M. singing, it was probably the black album. master of puppets is probably their best album total, but my favorite is justice.

BludgeonySteve 08-13-2004 02:18 PM
wonder if Rob will bring an old school feel to the new album
I bet he will. I don't know why people say that he sucks. He's pretty good.

Paranoidd 08-13-2004 02:19 PM

Because they compare everyone to Cliff. Which I guess is kind of justified since they won't get another bassist like that. Then again, hes dead so really stop bitching.

Newsted was good, but he was smart and left the band.

just hope Lars uses a proper kit instead of banging cutlery with sticks

dogydemoc 08-13-2004 02:21 PM

Any word on when they're going to start the new album?

Paranoidd 08-13-2004 02:26 PM
just hope Lars uses a proper kit instead of banging cutlery with sticks
Lets hope Lars breaks both his arms in an unfortunate check-cashing incident and Dave Lombardo fills in on the album :D

DisposableHeroes 08-13-2004 02:30 PM

c'mon, Lars aint that bad

Kickflip_Burrito 08-13-2004 02:33 PM
Any word on when they're going to start the new album?
Apparently they are going to start on a new album in January 2005. It was mentioned somewhere in this thread, a good few pages back or so. I hope its true.

DisposableHeroes 08-13-2004 02:42 PM

Interviews.

Bulldogabel 08-13-2004 10:14 PM

did you see the interview with METALLICA over tha black album?
It was pretty sweet. Nothing new, nothing new, but still! I think that when they do documentaries on METALLICA I always seem to find out somthing new on METALLICA. I can't think of anything right now off the top of my head.

BludgeonySteve 08-13-2004 10:19 PM

I like metallica.
